Hello,

So today I got my new fan controller, plugged it in (not sure if right) and fired up the computer. The fan controller part doesn't work, or works by changing fan speed by less than 50RPM (can't feel the difference), and every USB I plug in is not recognized by Windows. The link below is what I used to plug the pieces into the PCB.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

You plugged in the molex connector as well? There's not really much that can be wrong with a basic fan controller and usb. If everything is hooked up properly, and it doesn't work, then it's probably broken.

I am pretty sure that if they connect to the USB header on the motherboard that they are for data transfer. Otherwise they would be connected to power only.

Ah, I only glanced at the diagram, I didn't see the data pins :P

Are the ports attached to the fan controller, or are they part of your case?

1) USB is enabled, because otherwise keyboard & mouse wouldn't work, and there is no option to enable for headers
2) Tried both, and they gave me the same problem.

maybe you have to enable it in your bios ?
or maybe try another USB socket on your mainboard ... mine has 3 sockets for USB, not sure if they are all the same though I guess there is a difference between USB2 and 3.

I have actually never heard of a hardware fan control device but it looks neat ... even though I have no idea why anyone would "need" it.

I needed it because the front looked really ugly with 3.5" holes, so I got something which looks cool, covers the hole, and is useful.
USB3 and USB2 headers are different and one can't fit in the other without adapters. Also, I am using socket 775, which is quite old, which may rise problems
