About 1 year ago i discovered FlashMe. An old process to flash de DS firm and load unsigned code. But I just want to know what are the advantages of having FlashMe nowadays, because now we have FlashCards.

Thanks

flash me lets get you rid of the health and safety screen, making your ds boot the card faster...
flashme lets you boot your slot 2 flashcart into NDS mode, if you own a slot 1 flashcart you can use that instead.. it was a big deal back then when people had the passme devices, because it made the passme thing obsolente, but then slot 1 cards happeared people had been using it mostly for the health and safety removal
i reccomend the autoboot version so it only boots into NDS SLOT2 mode if you press select at boot.. if you have one slot2 flashcart with nds mode, it can be usefull

it offers you the "brick protection" against one virus that happeared back in the days in one particular homebrew, but that thing was isolated you will not accidentally come across it..
you will find it only if you want lol

personally, i only installed flashme to get rid of the health and safety screen...
but this also means i can use my slot 2 card (for example the ez iv with old firmware) and can put my slot 1 flashcart into my 3ds, to play NDS games in multiplayer (especially mario kart)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I think u can bypass the health and safety screen as well. that's what I remember about it anyway. this is the one hack I haven't done due to the danger of the battery falling out.
the battery has no change of falling down unless you drop it.. at least with the official battery, mine requires a "lever" and some strenght to remove it.. without the cover the battery stays in it's place...

anyway, when i used flashme and shorted that pin thing. well, i accidentally touched other stuff and blown a fuse.. so i let this advice to use a flat screwdriver or some solid thing..

the great thing about flash me is you can continue the progress with a bad connection on the pin, it gets interrupted but you can just continue shorting it until it's done.. just don't let it run down on power or drop the thing...
whatch a youtube video, they explain this...

oh, okay. I was under the impression u had to hold the battery in place while flashing the system. that's y I never tried it. I haven't opened the battery compartment before, so I was unaware of how it looked in there. I probably would've done if I owned just some ds off the shelf, but I bought my ds in Japan during a trip, so I have a special attachment to it. :)

I'm good. I own 2 3ds, and I'm trying to get rid of one of them. it's still on a9lh, 'cause I've been waiting on gateway to do something since I do own one of those cards. I'd like to sell them both together. anyway, I don't really want to buy a second ds just to do this hack when I no longer play the ds. my supercard ds two is in my new 3ds atm, and I just use those twl forwarders to launch my favorite games 'til I ran out of space in the flash. :P

nowadays? same as the advantages 8 years ago :D

(everything has already been said before above anyway)

- the best thing was skipping the boot logo, also it did save me from a brick (my fault) once.

with flashme nowadays if you dont have steady hands you can get your self some colorful plastic bricks

Why, whats changed? Last I checked it had an audio cue to tell you its flashing and it offered brick protection as soon as x percentage was flashed.

Well I personally been wanting to install it, though I heard DS Lite's had a piece of metal in the SLI connection that connected to the VR connection which would poweroff the DS Lite, which during flashing could be very devastating. DS Phat's don't have this piece of metal so there is no risk with those as long as your careful.

Any links to get started with FlashMe? I have a DS Lite I don't care for, and I wanna try it out. And does FlashMe work on DSi as well, or just DS Phat/Lite?
According to this, you'll need a GBA FlashCart so it probably will not work with the DSi

Not sure where to get flashme now, but when I installed it on my DS lite, I was cautious and wrapped my shorting tool(screwdriver) with electrical tape down to the tip, so only the very edge of the blade was showing...this helps to prevent bricking.
