Hardware Sending in Wii U gamepad for repair

My kid dropped something on my Wii U gamepad and left a nice dent in it :( It's purely cosmetic BUT it's bugging the hell out of me. I was thinking about sending it in to Nintendo to see if they would repair/replace it. My Wii U has CHBC setup on it, off the top of my head there shouldn't be any concerns; I don't believe the gamepad would retain any information about this correct?

Nintendo can't send it if you reflashed Wii U Gamepad firmware. But, hope that they will send one of the "Dev" Wii U gamepads which are used for debugging purposes, it would help this scene alot...
