Valkyria Revolution Launching June 27th on PS4/VITA in NA

Atlus announced today that Valkyria Revolution will be making its way to PlayStation platforms this June 27th.

playstationblogpost said:
First things first: Valkyria Revolution is not a sequel to the Valkyria Chronicles series. “Spinoff” would be the right word. It takes place in a whole different timeline, continent, and universe than its predecessors, but familiar elements — such as the precious mineral ragnite and the legendary beings known as the Valkyria — make a return.

Instead of a World War II influence, the game is inspired by the European industrial revolution and focuses on a war of liberation between two vastly different nations. But arguably the biggest difference is the battle system. The turn-based action has been replaced with faster-paced (but no less strategic) combat. This hybrid battle system combines the tactics of customizing squad behavior and loadouts with real-time action for some pretty intense moments on the field.

Fans can also look forward to a special edition on the same day for PS4. The Vita version is digital only.

Good to hear, but Valkyrie Profile should get a sequel as well...
The Vita is still getting great games, good to hear, but a shame that 3.60 is here to stay.

Why is ATLUS announcing a SEGA title? Who's in charge there? :wtf:
Atlus is owned by Sega, and I'm pretty sure they share a PR manager.

This game reviewed pretty poorly in Japan, so I hope its one of those games that turns out to be good and was just held back by some early issues over there

I'm glad they clarified it's a spinoff with nothing to do with the main series....

Now give us more of the goddamn main series. Such a fantastic series gone to waste.

I wouldn't know, i haven't played this game or series. last time i played a tactic game was final fantasy tactics on psp and GBA/NDS, last time i played a SEGA related tactic game was shining force on sega cd, but that was long time ago and the company who made those game moved on to making mario sports titles, mario tennis and golf. Honestly i don't really have interest in tactic games, which is why i hardly care for fire emblem. Had it been a different kind of game, sure why not? :P

I need to play both chronicles and chronicles 2 if they are connected. I heard they are great games, especially for people that love strategy games.

Isn't this also releasing on the Xbox one. Also I'm not excited about that action paced combat I thought it was perfect as it was in vc 1,2 and 3 why change it.
