Not only does the switch have no stylus, but no wrist strap. Sure you got one for the joy con when not used on the rail grips but i'd be worried of dropping my $300 system more than finger prints. (For the record i still worry about finger prints.)
Hopefully it lands on the joycons which can easily be replaced.

You could also use a nail, but would you?
Idk why you're quoting me but no, I prefer to use a stylus when it comes to touch screens besides smartphones.
If the Switch doesn't have a lot of touch input, I won't need a stylus.
But if it does I'll just buy a capacitive stylus and be happy, its idiotic the fact that the Switch doesn't have a lanyard hole tho.

I quoted both of you because your reply made a lot of sense, I would rather use something designed for the Switch instead of just anything. Who knows what materials those 3rd party ones are made of.

This does not hold true for everything mind you, but for something as delicate as a screen I would think twice about cheaping out.

What stylus you use does matter with plastic ones for resistive screens as poor molding can cause it to scratch the screen. But with a capacitive stylus even the cheapest ones I can get use a soft spongy material that in no way can scratch any surface.

I don't think any game has been released which strictly requires the use of the touchscreen. World of Goo in portable mode I guess. People obviously don't care about using their fingers for smartphones...get some lens wipes in bulk and it's never an issue.

In portable mode, Little Inferno, World of Too, and Human Resource Machine require touch when the joycons are attached to the console. I think it is stupid to not allow joycon control alongside touch.
