I was able to install Luma last week and was planning on backing up/converting all my saves. But I followed the tutorial here : https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/ and get an error C8A04555...

This is (broadly) what I did (Bravely Default EUR taken as an example/test) :
1. install the CIA version (converted myself from the .3ds)
2. create a new save and verify that the save is there (restarted the game)
3. copied the SD:\00040000000FC600.sav to SD:\gwsaves\BDEUR\00040000000FC600
4. copied it back to SD:\00040000000FC600
5. restarted my N3DS
6. entered Gateway mode, SELECT, selected the Bravely Default EUR cart
7. didn't start the game!
8. entered JKSM - verified both id's (CIA and 3DS are high 00040000 and low 000fc600) and done a "Save Data Options" / "Export Save" and got an error "Error opening save archive : C8A04555".

Any idea's?
thanks!

You didn't follow the guide correctly.
You need to copy the sav to 0004000002c23200.sav

Man, YOU ARE AWESOME!!! :D Thanks so much for the pointer and the correction - it worked! Finally!!!
I was overthinking this too much and also wondering why the tutorial was so "redundant" (why copy it first in another folder eg) but yeah, it's clear now :) So it only looks at that 0004000002c23200.sav? Guess I should've read the "manual" a little better ;-)
Damn, I'm a happy camper right now ;-)

Every single save file needs to be renamed to JKSM's title ID which jdbye posted because Gateway's idea of save emulation is to bind save reading to the save whose filename matches the running title ID instead of the title ID of the ROM currently loaded. While this is of course fine for the games themselves, it breaks when third party apps like Pokebank or JKSM try to access cart savedata.
