Look at how thick it is again. Plus with the protruding controllers (left and right). It's massive compared to the typical tablet, thickness-wise. Plus all those removable pieces need to be stored somewhere. Totally different market to the 'casuals' who just want convenience and a quick game on their thin tablets and phones.

I'm sorry, I don't see it being very thick. As for the controllers I hate this and I know you will too, but I'm betting all games will likely have touch controls as well so you don't even have to take the joy on with you.

I don't mind if it's not that powerful and I very much like the idea of one system instead of two (if that's going to be the case).
BUT I don't like that
-the Wiimote pointer seems to be a thing of the past (I still use it regularly for Wii U)
-the 2nd screen idea seems to be gone too, it is a great idea for multiplayer, but wasn't used it that much (e.g. getting rid of Tingle functionality in the Wind Waker HD) -> so if u want to have multiple screens u need multiple systems (with probably multiple games)

I'm sorry, I don't see it being very thick.

It looks no less than 2x thicker than my 7 inch tablet (which sold for around 100 dollars).
This will mean more weight for the Switch and I bet you will get far less battery too (pure speculation but I think this will be true). Look at those vents at the top. I know my regular tablet doesn't need those. And that's what we see without a case.

I don't think that many people will be buying the Switch instead of a normal tablet, and I think Nintendo know it too, which is why they have put some eggs into mobile gaming on phones and tablets. Plus I can't see Nintendo really ever getting serious about apps (or offer an extensive choice) let alone offer a quality web browser. We'll wait and see though.

I hate this and I know you will too, but I'm betting all games will likely have touch controls as well so you don't even have to take the joy on with you.
Probably right. I don't mind so much (I think they have to do it). It just means that one of the best features is not being used (1 or 2 people per tablet playing with those tiny controllers without obscuring the screen with fingers).

kickstand
One other concern I have is that the kickstand doesn't seem to open wider than what we see in the official video. Not good when your head is a fair bit higher than the tablet and you need the tablet facing up more. Most people in the video could do with a better angle. I'd probably say it can't open wider. But my main concern is the battery at this piont.

Nintendo needs to prove they have 3rd parties on board for me to care.
If they have Skyrim Remastered on this (which isn't confirmed yet) and a few other games as well as Wii U games that are freed from the gimmicky gyrosensor and touchscreen functionality then I'm definitelly interested.

it looks like a tablet but it's not a tablet

this could be one of thoose tablets with controlls like the nvidea shield and JXD gaming tablets
howerver nintendo decided to take another aproach..
the fact that there is a craddle which "prevents you from using the screen" nintendo did it on purpose so it's not to be looked like a tablet

nitnendo could open the doors to a new world
however they decided to create their own train.. a new type of device

the device could be a tablet powered by android or a variant of android, with detachable controlls, their own proprietary cartridges and it could stream wirelessly to the tv via chromecast or their own "adaptor"

however nintendo thought about another approach, i am really sad that most likely there will be no touchscreen... which is something great to use to do tasks like watch movies or navigate on the internet in special places like an airplane...

anyway... INB4 Nintendo switch + U
i will wait until nintendo releases the improved model to buy it...
i already feel shitty in buying the Old 3ds xl and wanting a new 3ds xl...

I wonder what kind of applications Nintendo will allow/support (if they want to reach the mass market). But if the browser is good, maybe not too many applications are needed (e.g. Skype also works in a browser). If they include WeChat, they might even have a chance at the Chinese market.

without a touchscreen how do you actually use a browser? it's a pain to use the joysticks to type...
but probably there will be released a keyboard later or we can use a usb\bluethoot keyboard

Putting a touch screen on it would involve putting touch screen features in the games, no? You can't use the portable and console setup at the same time, so that sounds messy to say the least.

That being said, my nipples are rock soild for Nintendo Switch. :creep:

I'm not THAT interested at it.
I wasn't even interested in the Wii U.
Mainly, because both wants to simulate a tablet like device. And i didn't like that, because Nintendo made their consoles look like toys.
With Wii U... I've always looked at it as if it were an Oversized DS.
And the Switch is just an Oversized Smartphone.

Don't know what's this new Nintendo trend, that they decide to appeal more kids with their designs... but for veteran players like myself (Started with the NES) it just doesn't fit...
I got so used to get and see CONSOLES and not just another device that can play games.

Also, as Nintendo tends to do, this wouldn't surprise me.
I mean, that Nintendo will release a "Newer and more powerful with bigger screens and a redesigned control"... you know... like: DS-DS Lite, DSi-DSi XL, 3DS-3DS XL, New 3DS-New 3DS XL, Nintendo Switch-New Nintendo Switch XL... Tournament Championship Alpha Zero Omega Limited Edition 2.0

I really hope that the NS has a LAN port because playing online via WiFi just sucks so much, imo.

Love it when you see masses of people salivating over a tease video with no specs to follow for god knows how long

Tech Inside : same as a nokia 3210
Battery Life : Powered by solar... ( so make sure you stand in front of the sun to operate it )
Multiplayer : via a 80 pin crossover cable ( not included )

just playing.... it doesnt look to bad, its certainly a step in the right direction making it HD and portable would always depend on how good the internal specs are and battery life, besides that the controllers set it appart in functionality and a card for the games.... now wait to see if we have a great stand out system or another note in a forgotten magazine

As others have already said, it's probably best to wait until a better version or game bundle of the Switch is avialable before buying it.

Retro gamers like myself already have more than enough games to play, so this Switch better offer something more than portability.
