Just for funsies have you tried putting it in the root of the SD card instead of files9?yup! it's in the files9 folder. Gotten from the guide.
done, but same response.Just for funsies have you tried putting it in the root of the SD card instead of files9?
Well, that's what GW and/or rxTools does sometimes, fragmenting the CTRNAND... There's no way Decrypt9 can handle fragmentation, but there's a way around. Read this post carefully, and decide if you want to do it. As I wrote in that post, Decrypt9's injection routines are known to work reliably, and there was never a single case were anyone complained about failures. The code for that in Decrypt9 being pretty simple and mainly constisting of safety clamps also helps. Still, the normal advice for people without a NANDmod is to stay away from bigger (or even any) SysNAND modifications.
AND, additional info, the last guy who did it was scared but it worked without trouble .
EDIT: And if you have trouble deciding, read this.
Yes, it would be possible. No, I won't do it . It just makes no sense to inject anything but one CIA installer, and using other apps to inject may have unforeseen consequences.Would it be possible to injet to another app besides health and safety? (I.e miiverse)
This is EmuNAND, nothing can go wrong. Just use the instructions to defragment it. Even if you use SysNAND, you're only touching CTRNAND, which is non critical (as long as you have backups) on A9LH.Hello, d0k3 !
I have the same problem with:
"APP0 not found or fragmented!
Health&Safe dump: failed!"
Now the big question is if my NAND_emu.bin is already contamined by the fragmentation of if the backup is safe to make the restore option in Hourglass.
In my case, I used the Plailect Move Emunand guide. From what I understand, if the Emunand was fragmented then the Nand_emu.bin will be fragmented too, right ?
Plus, if I have a9lh there's already chance of brick with your method or a9lh can save my day even doing the defrag thing that you suggest?
Thanks early !
Oh well. A lot of people have asked this in recent times. Fact: Generating the injectable is not exactly trivial. Porting the stuff all those tools do to hardware is a ton of work, and even then there will be bugs. So, no. We'll do something else instead.?Will there ever be a way to compile the app injected hs.app using only the 3DS?
I meant OPT-less A9LH is very close to official release, after downgrade to 9.2, we can get A9LH and up and running very quick. We're still stuck with using PC to compile injected app for H&S app...

Hey,done, but same response.
I'm copying the rest of my data over at the moment. I had it properly wiped, as the guide instructed. I'll also make sure to go download the latest version of Hourglass9, because it ain't going to hurt.
*update*
After copying back all my files over, and downloading straight from the github for hourglass, it worked! No clue which aspect mattered, but I can progress as normally now =]
I had a 64GB full of games, so I had copied the entire contents of my sd card off, then just put the files in the guide on my sd card.Hey,
I had the same error as you. Which files did you copy over? I worried about getting rid of something vital.
Thanks for your help.
afaik it's against forum rules to ask for that because it's official nintendo software aka it's copyrighted and can't be shared. You would have to ask on That ISO Site for it.FINALY I got registered.. Had many Questions but never made me an Account. However:
Could someone Send me the original hs.app for N3DS EU?

Hey so when I put my hs.app file in the input folder it won't recognize it like it says to create the hs.app file even though it's already there.A lot of people know that problem - you just setup a brand new EmuNAND, just to notice, moments later, that you forgot about installing a CIA manager. Now you're out of luck, and the only choice you've got left is setting up your SysNAND (via PastaCFW / ReiNAND Sys / rxTools dev) with a CIA manager and formatting your EmuNAND anew. Don't fret, cause this thread contains the solution.
Thanks to the work of @Syphurith, @Shadowtrance, @dark_samus3 and mself, we can now comfortably inject any homebrew app into the Health & Safety app. That does not only include FBI and DevMenu (which would be obvious choices), but in fact anything you can think off.
What you will need:
- A N3DS or O3DS on or below FW 9.2.
- A CFW (rxMode, ReiNAND, CakesFW, PastaCFW) already set up (I won't help with that). Injected apps don't work without CFW.
- Some way to run Decrypt9 on your 3DS plus the most recent version of Decrypt9WIP.
- The most recent copy of the Universal Inject Generator, extracted to some place of your choice on your Windows / Linux PC. Alternatively, use the GUI written by @Shadowtrance.
How to use it:
- Dump hs.app from either SysNAND or EmuNAND using Decrypt9 "Dump Health & Safety" feature. It's in "SysNAND File Options" or "EmuNAND File Options". Decrypt9 needs to be run from SysNAND.
- Get hs.app from the root of your 3DS SD card and put it plus as many homebrew CIAs as you like into the "input" folder of the Universal Inject Generator.
- Run go.bat, you'll get two inject-ready apps per CIA.
- If the last one for some reason doesn't work, you may try deep-decrypting (via Decrypt9, "Game Decrypt Options") your CIAs first. Then go back to step 2.
- To inject, copy the inject-ready .app files into the root of your 3DS SD card and inject via Decrypt9. The feature is also found in "SysNAND File Options" or "EmuNAND File Options", but stay with the NAND you used for dumping!
- That's it!
Limitations of this:
- Inject apps can not be bigger than the original H&S app. It is possible that this will not work for some homebrew. For a workaround, keep reading.
- Obviously, the injected app will only show up when signatures are patched. Without signature patches, f.e. in SysNAND, you'll simply see nothing at all.
- Won't work with commercial stuff (ie roms). You're free to try, of course, but to be honest I don't see much use in having games replace your H&S app .
- You need to generate your inject apps yourself to prevent incompatibilities. Don't take ones from other persons if you can avoid it.
C# rewrite with GUI:
For all the command line illiterates, @Shadowtrance rewrote this in C# with a nice GUI. Get his release from here.
Is this safe?
The only critical feature is the injector itself. It (as well as all other file injector features in Decrypt9) is designed so that it will never touch anything but the space of the file to inject. For Health & Safety, the worst that can happen (if you do something wrong) is that Health & Safety vanishes from your menu, and that is still totally fixable (most likely, even for people who are too lazy to do backups). I still won't take any responsibility if anything breaks and advice you to do backups. You're on your own.
Injecting apps larger than H&S
Try @Syphuriths script. That one doesn't need Decrypt9, relies on xorpads and the user doing the inject himself via EmuNAND tools, 3DSFAT16tool and OSFmount. Needless to say, not for noobs, and you will have to do the reading on that yourselves.
Credits
- @Syphurith coded the MergeExHeader tool and helped develop this method right from the beginning. He also coded his own version of the inject script.
- @Shadowtrance coded the GUI for this and helped with testing.
- @dark_samus3 ported the Universal Inject Generator to Linux (already inlcluded on GitHub).
- The people who first tried injecting FBI over Health & Safety, including @Riku who coded the FBI NAND inject generator.
- Everyone I possibly forgot.
- This was originally started on 4DSdev.org and here.
So you succesful finished the 3ds guide? Your H&S app possibly didn't disapeared. If you haven't installed FBI as cia and there is a FBI icon on your homescreen.. that actually IS your H&S app. And why aren't you able to use JKSM?Hello there ! I'm new on this forum, and i have a few questions, i have followed the guide on the sites 3ds guides to install arm9loaderhax, i have done the homebrew the ctr transfer, and the and restore my firmware keeping the a9lh but when it comes to inject FBI to H&S i have a problem, i have dumped H&S and then inject the Fbi 2.4.2 version injectable, but ht H&S has disappear from my app home menu, and finally i want to backup my save from Pokemon Sun but the games is corrupt and i can't uses JKSM, how could i backup them and reinject them into my sd.
Thanks for your future replies and have a nice day !
Delete your extData of your Homemenu after injecting FBI into the H&S app.Hmm, if we can overwrite the default H&S banner, would it be possible to also replace its icon?
uhm I have no idea so far how to fix that. Can you re-inject your original H&S app? What is your current Firmware version? and which country? No i dont explained really well xD I'm french so its a bit hard ^^ When i try to inject FBI for the first installation it says "Sucessfull" But the H&S icon is not here just like it has vanished :/ i can't click on it because i don't see him :/ Nop thats exactly the point where it come the guide tell me after the sysNand inject i must update through the system otpion but when it try it it tell me that there is no update, so i skip it and try to inject FBI it work but the H&S icon is not here i will send a pics that you can see !
