Typically, yes, that would work. This is an old router that didn't have enough memory to install the PHP module of Open-WRT. Without the PHP support, the only option for me was to use the MP4 version. These new MP4s work perfectly...compared to the old MP4s that would freeze my WiiU.
Drop @Madridi a line and thank him for finding all these working mp4's. He worked hard to hunt them all down and test them thoroughly.

I don't think open wrt supports php. Could be wrong

Thanks for clarification :)

It's really @Cybernatus, @dimok, @::Phoenix:: hard work for fixing the 5.5.1 MP4s, and @oldsk00l for fixing the 5.3.2 payloads. They are the ones that deserve the thanks. I merely tried to find the sources of the problems we were getting :)

d. I know this sounds like old school NES tactics but it has worked for some. Take out your SD card or SD card adapter. Remove microSD and re-insert into adapter if you're using microSD. Blow on the contacts of the SD card or adapter. Blow in the Wii U SD slot. Try again.

Oh please remove that "troubleshooting step", it's a bad/dumb trick.

Well that's one request to remove it. I had a handful of requests to put it in there.

I'm indifferent really. It's like asking if you should turn your computer off everyday. I could argue extensively for both sides of that argument.

I'm inclined to leave it in there because dust can/will get on the contacts both inside the WIi U and on the SD Card itself. I know that you can make an argument for how this is "bad" but there's enough evidence to make the exact case too.

If you can give me a solid reason to take it out and others agree I'll be glad to do so.

Blowing on the contacts can cause them to rust and/or corrode. The only reason it "works" for a shot time is because the saliva in your mouth makes the contact between the SD Card and the SD Card Slot metal contacts have a better connection, but once the saliva it will start to damage the metal contacts over time. You can google this and find all the answers of how it damaged NES cartridges. If you want to clean the SD Card slot of the Wii U, you should use a can of compressed air and lightly blow out the slot.

EDIT: You can see the results of someone who tested it here http://kotaku.com/5946085/blowing-on-cartridges-didnt-help-them-it-hurt-them

Canned air it is! Fixed. Thanks for the heads up.

I won't be able to fix the packages instructions until I get home later.

@Kafluke and everyone else who helped with putting together this amazing package, once again, thank you very much. I recently updated to the newest version, and since then things run as smoother than ever. Before, my WiiU would often freeze when launching Loadiine directly and I had the reset the Wii U's browser settings quite often to make it work again, but that's a thing of the past now.

Very useful tools :)

What about creating an index file detecting if you browse the website with Wii U or with another browser (desktop, smartphone, etc.) like loadiine.ovh.
Desktop mode would display instructions or something else ;)
Wii U version would display... like now :)

And what about autodetect for Wii U firmware instead of having to choose 5.3 or 5.5 ?
And what about "automated process" ? :D

Just suggestions ;)

Like this tool with my own host :D

While a desktop version might be cool and all, it's not necessary for self hosting. It's only good for when you want to publish that website.

Also, it's good to have it the way it is so you can open that same link on the PC to make sure the setup is correct and see how it looks like before trying to access it on the WiiU (for debugging purposes). Although I do understand that we can simply point to that particular index.php we would like to view on the PC, but this is supposed to be noob friendly.

There actually is an auto-detect between 5.3.2 and (5.4.0 & 5.5.1) which is implemented by @oldsk00l .. We didn't do further detection between 5.5.1 and 5.4 because we are lacking testers for 5.4. So we'd rather not do any changes on 5.4 until someone approaches us with willingness to test that.

These is also a semi "automated process".. By either bookmarking a direct link, or using the Mii maker trick mentioned in the instructions. Not sure if that's what you mean by automated though.

Yeah this is already implemented in the current 2.1 package. But as @Madridi said, only splitted in 5.3.2 / REST. For splitting 5.4.0 / 5.5.1 we would need also a second menu.json and 5.4.0 testers to be 100% sure it's working. Of course we would be able to link the desktop mode to any index we want to, like it is at the moment (for debugging). We could also "fake" the browser version for testing - but it's saver to test with 5.4 users.

And what about autodetect for Wii U firmware instead of having to choose 5.3 or 5.5 ?

Same as above. If we implement a "desktop mode" it would automatically be also a 5.4 / 5.5 mode (i think you mean 5.4 because 5.3.2 is already splitted). Because to identify the desktop you need to seperate 5.4 / 5.5 before.

And what about "automated process" ? :D

You mean to set a cookie like loadiine.ovh? Maybe it would confuse the inexperienced users with the amount of options. You are already able to work with directlinks, bookmarks and miimaker trick.

Anybody make a super easy android plug n play apk for this yet?

That would be really cool. I've already played around with my own apk but couldn't achieve perfect results for releasing it as i'm not firm with programming (only do some powershell :o)).

Maybe you can try Server for PHP - should work.

I think it will be hard to find someone that is willing to effort time in programming an APK hosting PHP files for Kaflukes selfhosting package, because IOSU is around the corner. Maybe one of them want to do so? :D @HiddenRambler @scognito @skettios

Thanks OP
I got it show up on my localhost. But not on the wii u browser. In fact I can't load any of the exploitable websites or any websites at all on the browser. It looks like its about to load then just hangs.

Anyone else having issues?

When you say it won't load do you mean that the kexploit fails or are you saying you can't even see the webpage on the wii u? If you want help you need to be as specific as possible.

If the webpage loads on your laptop but nothing else then you are having a network issue.

What is the address that you type in the laptop and then tell us what is the address that you type in the wii u.
