Homebrew Questions about going from N3DS XL 9.2 SysNAND RXTools 11.00 EmuNAND to AL9H Luma3DS.

1. Is there a guide on how I can safely go about going from RXTools EmuNAND to AL9H?

2. Can I transfer all the stuff on my EmuNAND to my new AL9H/Luma3DS? I have a ton of games/savedata I don't want to lose.

with the new guide you should finish with all the data intact at around 1 hour (including move rednand)

What's the difference between EmuNAND and RedNAND? I had never heard of RedNAND until long after hacking my 3DS to have RXTools CFW.

Also for moving my games and saves over is all I have to do is back up my micro-SD card?

RedNAND and EmuNAND are both different types of NAND redirection with small differences in the way they are handled behind the scenes. The main advantage to using RedNAND instead of EmuNAND is that RedNAND will always use the smallest NAND size the device offers, regardless of the size of the SysNAND chip. For example, a New 3DS user with a 1.8GB internal NAND chip will only have to use 1.2GB for all RedNAND backups.

both are slightly different but you just need to treat both as the same

if you follow the guide till finish you will have all your games and save data intact (in your case emunand games and savedata)
the guide will tell you to back up one time in 'Move Rednand' steps

I backed up my micro-SD but now I have to have the micro-SD both be MBR volumes and FAT32 system format but if I make it MBR it undoes the FAT32 and if I format it as FAT32 it undoes the MBR. I am on Windows 10. Help would be appreciated.

What are you using to format, and why is there a MBR on it?

so im thinking of doing this now that there's a simpler guide and im basically on the same book with OP (still on RX-E 11.0, sysnand 9.2, want to update and not lose my files) Do I have to follow the whole guide (starting from Decrypt9) even if I already have EmuNAND? I just feel like I need to update this before rxtools continues to become more obsolete but I'm scared of ruining something that already works fine just for easier booting, etc :/

I'm at the part where I need to go to http://dukesrg.github.io/2xrsa.html?arm11.bin in the browser but nothing is showing up is this normal? Does this take a few tries?

I think following the guide will make the switch from rxTools to Luma3DS for you.
You should follow the guide from the beginning. Everything is done in sysNAND, not emuNAND. There will be a step in part 3 where you move your emuNAND over to sysNAND after installing a9lh, so you won't lose your stuff.

There are several points in the guide where you make NAND and SD backups. You will have to backup your entire SD card, format it in emuNAND9, then copy everything back to it.

You should get in the habit of backing up your entire sd card at least once a month anyways. Backing up now is highly recommend though in the event that the worst happens.

Okay I now have my A9LH 3DS but I wasn't able to do the step to restore my EmuNAND (which I didn't want anyway I just want my games and saves on it.) Is there any way to get my games/saves back at this point without restoring EmuNAND. I don't really want EmuNAND but I want to transfer the things that were there.

Nope. You have to overwrite your SysNAND with your EmuNAND in order to get your games and saves back, unless if you're willing to keep the two-nand setup.

Well now it's wanting me to format it for EmuNAND in order to do so. As long as I move everything from my SD card to my computer will A9HL be safe? As in will I be able to recover my current system and carry out the process to carry my old EmuNAND stuff over? I do have a backup of my old EmuNAND by the way.

You shouldn't be formatting for emuNAND I don't think, only formatting with no emuNAND after flashing the backup to sysNAND.
