was wondering. when nintendo goes into maintenence, does that prevent people from updating their system?

because i just noticed this.

edit: guess it doesn't stop the system update, i must've had some weird hiccup the 1st time :S

Are you making sure to restore emuNAND_original.bin to you sysNAND.
If you are, could you hold select while booting and tell me what options you have activated when the luma3ds menu appears?

Well, I've reinstalled like 5 times just to see if it was something wrong in the install....so yes, I'm pretty sure

....I have Autoboot SysNAND, SysNAND is updated (A9LH-only), Force A9LH detection, Show current NAND in System Settings, Show GBA boot screen in patched AGB_FIRM

alright so, i've been going through this guide today and just when i thought i was in the clear (im at secion IV of part 5) and i was trying to set up hourglass9. i've been greeted with this issue.

Code:

Initializing SD card... success
0x03 KeyX & KeyY: automatically set up
0x05 KeyY: not found
0x25 KeyX: not found
0x18 KeyX: already set up
0x1B KeyX: not found
Finalizing Initialization...

Initialization: failed!
(A to exit)

so hourglass9 boots but it doesnt finish initialization. and i've tried the test payload to make sure im not bricked..

i was originally on New3dsXL on 9.9.0u firmware before i started this guide. if anyone that can help needs anymore info, i can try to give more. i'd just like to know what is wrong.

Update i'd like to point out that i'm an idiot and i completely overlooked copying the aeskeydb.bin to the root of my sd. (thought i did, but i should've checked again) so i guess this is what happens

I believe mine finished successfully. This is the second one i have installed a9lh on, but this one doesn't show the boot screen at startup like the one I installed in march does. Everything seems to work. I was able to use all the different Luma payloads and install home brew Cia and use it. The settings just shows sys 11.03 now.

the a9lh installation part threw me a bit. When I went to the Internet url on 2.1, the bottom screen gglitches and it looked like the system froze. I hit select like the troubleshooting guide says, but my system did not reboot. After a minute or so, I powered off and continued. Like I said, looks like everything works. I will find out for sure tonight when I install some more Cia files. Thanks for everyone here!

Hi Plailect and everyone, can someone give a tip here, i just bouth a sandisk 32GB microSD card with a crappy sandisk SDHC adapter (think its not original). Well my 2DS is hacked to the last arm9 version and i have used the latest and updated version of your tutorial, everything is allright on my 4GB SDHC, but on that microSD my 2DS dont even turn on. I Already did a full formart on windows, 32K block, fat32. But the worst thing is after remove that microSD from 2ds and put again on PC, windows (10) acuses the microSD card have problems and need to be repaired, after that they try to repair without succes. Its my microSD problem or a Specific model problem? anyone with a way to fix it? its showing SDSDQM-032G-B35A on model code .thank you all!

EDIT: oh and i need to know, what files really should be on the SD for ARM9 and Luma to boot? i want to clear the rest

Just bought a n3ds EUR 9.9fw brand new..
Thank you for such a awesome complete guide.. Im 35yrs old and in all my years modding consoles including hardmods i have never seen such a great how to. N3ds is completely arm9ed

this n3ds was brand new out of the box and followed guide It maybe known but only had one issue on 9.2fw downgrade from 9.9 near the end I got black screen with 3ds encountered a issue. Luckily rebooted without SD in and it booted into 9.2 reran downgrade steps and it had missed a couple of titles and nfirm. I highly recommend having a hardmod and orignal nand backup before doing this on a n3ds

The OTPHelper url now doesn't have "full install" as an option. We need to do this manually again, it loos like...

The guide has changed. The "OTPHelper URL" shouldn't open OTPHelper, but rather safeA9LHinstaller as it automatically dumps the OTP for you, so it saves a step.

I used it successfully a couple of days ago on my o3DS, but it keeps opening OTPHelper on my n3ds xl

Just replace arm9.bin and arm11.bin on your sd card with the ones from the safeA9LHinstaller zip. That should fix your problem

Hi all,

I tried restoring my sysNAND-A9LHAX.bin using Decrypt9WIP. It went through the process fine and asked me to reboot. I am currently just getting a black screen. I tried rebooting without the SD card. Same result.

Am I screwed?

Hi, I region changed one of my O3DS from JP to US but I didn't deleted my eShop acct since I didn't set up any eShop acct prior to region changing). I also haven't formatted my system after region change, now I can't access eShop.

My question is, if I were to format my system, can I access eShop after? Or should I repeat the proccess and delete my eShop acct (even tho I haven't set up one)?

Please help.. I've almost done - have passed chapters 4,5 of Plealect's guide - made sys cfw.. And also I've changed region from U to EU. And I have deleted all Titles of previous region which included Fbi HBL Luma updater.. How to restore it?

Firstly you didn't need to delete those three afaik because I believe they aren't region specific.
But to get them back, you can use hourglass9 to inject FBI into H&S and then use the modified H&S app to install lumaupdater and HBL.

So... did this process on my 2DS and everything went smoothly, just done it on my N3DS and AL9H installed no problems, copied my emuNAND to sysNAND everything was fine, awesome, backed up SD Card so I could format it and get rid of the emuNAND and now apparently my device is full of Demos and if I check the Titles in System Settings everything is blank, anyone had this problem? couldn't find anything.

My NNID seems to still be intact hell the Home Screen layout is the same its just not the right titles, there a fix for this? if not what is the best way to get rid of all the broken titles so I can just start reinstalling? simply a folder on the SD I can delete? would like to do it without formatting if possible to keep my NNID/Friend Code/StreetPass stuff in tact.

Here are 2 shots

The more I look at the install apps on the home screen I think I did have them all at one point but it would have been before emuNAND like a year back O.o I wouldn't even have a backup of that info and again the emuNAND I restored was correct since it was fine on sysNAND before I did the format.

Its like its loading an old NAND folder? but I did try delete the others that weren't like 22GBs and none got re-created.
