There are two made by Yellows8 that were patched on 5.x, along with 1 that was patched on 3.x and one that was never looked into that would be patched on 5.x.
Gateway was the first to release, however. 3DBrew doesn't attribute exploits to whomever releases, only to those to can (effectively) prove they found it first. Gateway was the first to release a public payload for firmlaunchhax, memchunkhax, and sha256. k9lhax was plutoo's and was documented in May-ish 2015 iirc, and extended k9lhax was also his, but original k9lhax required ARM9 to execute anyhow, so I'd hardly call it usable.

you deserve a cookie.

and i took a look at menuxhax btw . https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Multi-threading#GetProcessIdOfThread

;)

documentation helps :P

multithreading helps ;)

ppl do wonder and say assembly is hard but fact of the matter you only learn when u dig into everything.it makes everything connect.

Not when it was written in C and the source is public. If you're being paranoid, just audit the source code on github and build it yourself. It's unneeded to do that with public source code.

EDIT: You also have bad taste in torrent clients. Might wanna run THAT through IDA sometime. Might find it 'educational'.

the thing thats annoying is its people who werent around now reading 3dbrew "urg but yellows found oothax so gateway copiededed himz code" you do realize 2 people can find the same thing independently right?, gateway finding oothax and releasing it is no less their discovery than if yellows found it 27 years earlier but kept it hidden on a github repo just to go "neh neh i had that 27 years ago" sure he get the "FIRST!" rights but for us end users without GW releasing it it would probably still be hidden today

That is such a contrived example that it downright isn't even applicable here. But yes, nothing prevents two people from discovering the same exploit independently and 3dbrew documents some cases of this.

its not directed at everyone, and i can totally accept gateway did some shit, its just stupid seeing some people just make up crap or saying "oh well that doesn't count as someone else already found it first "to justify hating a team that actually contributed a lot to the public release side of things

they say that gateway's a9lh is a carbon cut copy of delebile's, but wouldn't you call something like that a fork? i can't say much about this, but for anyone's version of a9lh, they fork from another user right?

A fork of the source code would be taking the code, respecting the license (which is GPL, so that means they have to release source code), and giving credit. Saying "this is something we wrote ourselves" and not releasing source is stealing code.

Also, if you try downloading Gateway's a9lh implementation, it includes a full set of Homebrew Channel apps from smea's starter pack.

the 3ds scene might not have come so far if not for gateway, since some major exploits wouldn't be publicly available if not for reverse engineering, and i'd like to see you quote 3dbrew, and tell me about all these closed source devs who didn't and wouldn't have released any exploits they had, making them essentially useless.

This is actually correct, and it's a shame people don't admit it.

and no, your console is never really 'married to gateway' even if you lose your cart, you can just restore a backup.

1) Gateway's a9lh process skips making backups.

2) Just because switching back isn't actually impossible doesn't change the fact that Gateway has made it difficult.

I really don't know why to much hate too... even the a96lh god tier stuff that I'm a biut far to understand well... man wtf!
YOu are right in a important point: If wasnt't GW I'm sure a lot of exploit would been keept in secret .. and I think some still... I really don't know why the 3DS Scenes was too miserly about making stuff public... nintendo will discover and block it ? great ... still a lot more of to explore.. also they have no right to complain about someone that charge for their discoveries, since they keep them below the carpet :B

I like GW but I don't make it any kind of God haha It was very useful to me to tuff like test games faster / translations and these stuff but sadly I didn't have it for too much time, when I was with my 3DS broke, I've borrowed it to a friend, that had his 3DS stolen and my GW was there :/ I don't plan buying another SOON (lol) because it cost a LOT here, but If I coud, I would get another....

Not in while, actually. In the beginning? Sure.

You left out the 'ka'. That's '鏡' (mirror) not to be confused with '雅味' (high class) or '神' (god).

does anyone here actually expect much from gw at this point, im actually genuinely surprised they are still making updates given how their potential customer base was demolished by free cfw's XD

YES, IT IS SAFER! WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP SAYING THAT?! The average user does not know about private and public headers, and they will get banned online, simple as that. And you might not have to pay for the .3ds files themselves, but you do have to pay $80 for a Gateway card to play them. Whereas .cia files don't require any special hardware at all. With CFW, you don't have to carry around a Gateway card and additional SD Card with you at all times in order to play games. And what does Gateway have to play NDS games? Nothing! As apposed to CFW, which has that port of DSemume or whatever it's called and compatibility with almost any NDS flashcard, which you can get for less than $10, along with having your NDS games show up on your home menu. Just accept it. CFW is far superior to Gateway.

It definitely not safe for my save, GW have my save easy access from SD card, while I have to extract the save from .cia game with a program and it doesn't even show me the name of the game, I may make a mistake and lost my save back-up.

And I buy my GW since 2014, which CFW we have at that time? Now you tell me to throw
compare to what I already have and what I have to pay for use CFW, you can see it a big loss if I switch to CFW.

And DSemume port is a joke, it can barely run a game at this point. Compare a emulator with build-in NDS player is a joke. The solution you give is to pay more for another FC? Hypocrisy much?

Gateway sucks. They put malicious brick code in their launchers, steal other work and claim it as their own, and let's not forget that they can't create their own update without having to alter someone's code.

There's a difference between paying $80 for something obsolete and paying $10 for something that isn't.
