The Wii U GPU (the GX2) has direct access to RAM for various operations, and we can send it commands that make it write to RAM. Nintendo attempted to block some addresses from GPU access, but they forgot the PPC kernel heap. So I used a GX2 memory write to redirect the heap into userspace. That way, when a new OSDriver gets created, it gets made in userspace, and I can then just set its save area to the kernel syscall table. From then, it proceeds as the OSDriver exploit did.

Was it that hard to develop?

sorry if this is a stupid question, but seeing as i've never made use of a kernel exploit before today...

1) at what point would i need to update files on my self-host server? when loadiine/hbl updates are released, do i just need to replace the elf files on my sd card?

Yes, you need to replace the elfs.
They have been released weeks ago.

I'm assuming Cafiine doesn't work on 5.5.1 right now until someone ports it? I wanted to replace some MK8 files but as far as I know there's no 5.5 port yet and I don't think SDCafiine works with MK8.

Just a question how do I block updates? If I use tubehax dns it kills internet access on the wiiu, if I block the domains on my router I can still access eshop and all that, any way to do it?

I have the domains blocked via router blacklisting, and the eShop is effectively blocked.
Whenever I want to enter it again, I simply boot up NNU patcher.

I did it on my router however they are not blocked, so I don't know what to do.

Try using Parental Blocking.
I think that's how I blocked my domains.

Done then tried this http://www.kloth.net/services/nslookup.php and according to wiiubrew, it is not blocking the domains, I have a motorola surfboard btw.

Try the direct method.
Simply input the domains in the router, and go straight to the Wii U.
Connect it to the internet and try to access the eShop, if it enters, it's not working.

That's the only way to be completely sure, don't rely on outsources.
