i still think it is

I got one 2nd hand with a couple of games for $100 usd. The good thing for me about it being older now is that i have a good back log not only that i can find many games i wish to play for $5-$7.

Funny thing is i had a couple of blueray movies i got for some holidays but never had a blue ray player!

I actually like playing older video game systems ( 5, 10 or even 15 years old) more than newer ones. Unfortunately the only time i mostly have to play them is on a weekend if even that sometimes

Yea I'd say its worth it if you've only got a Wii currently. There's plenty of great games from that gen - last of us, god of war, uncharted etc. Your making me consider one now too ffs lmfao

Don't forget they're also 100% compatible with PS1 games (but not PS2, unless you have the rare, often broken 4 usb port model supporting PS2 games), so you have another system available as well to get games for if you're not emulating them already.

The ps3 is worth it just for it's exclusives I tried to go back to my 360 and I just couldn't unless they were multi platform games. The PS3 games are even cheaper then the 360 versions of a game, something I don't understand but I'd go and buy a PS3 if I were you.

I bought my ps3 early this year (on march, to be exact), for 130 NZD (yay!), and I love the exclusives.

ni no kuni however, is decent, unfortunately. the game could have been better had it used turn-based-system.

I am currently playing infamous. Heck, I think in the end I will play more games on my ps3 than on steam.

my biggest letdown is the fact that I cannot hack my console and I cannot cheat. sometime I just want to breeze the game only to read the story. it's kinda hard to allocate time when you are almost 30 :(

Still better than PS4 in my opinion, and has lots of amazing games (Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas ect.) Never become a Bill Gates **** sucker and buy a Xbox. Thats a dark side you don't want to go to

Oh, it's worth it.

The system is still getting new games; quite recently I purchased MGSV: The Phantom Pain for it (you mentioned liking the MGS series). I'm going to get Persona 5 when it comes out as well. There are sales on the PSN all the time for classics and things, so you can find something fun regardless of budget.

To be quite honest, given the quality and titles on the PS3 at this point, I've had no urge whatsoever to buy a PS4. I may end up skipping the entire generation (well, there's the Wii U, but that's kinda still back in the PS3 gen IMO). But certainly I haven't seen anything at all on X1 or PS4 that makes me go "Ooh, shiny".
