Through the browser, no (known) work has been done finding an exploit in the loader that would allow you to install content to the system, now that stuff is checked both at install time and everytime it's launched, and there's no guarantee it's even possible.
First, thanks for sharing this. Secondly, as I've pointed out, Nintendo will get this and patch it. There is no way to obfusgate code execution when somebody has complete access to THEIR system. In poker we call what we need "the nut hand." You have a King high heart flush but the Ace high is to have full access and to PREVENT any system updates. Like having a bootmii or priiloader. It would be nice to see a way to downgrade firmware versions if that is necessary OR to back up as a safety net.
Anyone with the abilities to answer questions about this won't share. I am not saying this is stuff that you and mario are working on NWPlayer123. You'll get out a kernel exploit and maybe some below 5.3 can use it. That will happen until Nintendo patches that exploit. I guess people could simply not update but if Zelda and other games/programs require 5.4 to go online and play games (or even add in checks for previous games so that you must be on a current version of firmware) then the choice is an N64 emulator or to play Wii U games. There might be details that are left out but as it is, you're doing this work and without a way to control firmware (including upgrading/downgrading) it will be over in one patch. I GUESS there might be ways to SPOOF a firmware but again, without the level of control the 360, PS3, and Wii had, this is going to be very limiting. I GUESS maybe it will help Wii U sales because you'll need two systems; one for homebrew that you never update and one for normal gaming. I don't have that kind of cash laying around and as Marcan pointed out; any of that homebrew can be done and done more easily on other devices (like Android).
I am anxious to see what you've come up with. Thanks for the work, I only have thoughts and concerns, none of this is intended to be "trash talk." If I am wrong about details then please let me know. I do love the updates NW, thanks for that.
EDIT: about the picture; it does not give proof, it is a window that copies the "hash" and states some text. We've been down some roads with the 4 horsemen and other hoax attempts.
Edit 2: If NWplayer, Marionumber1 or maybe a few others were to say they know for sure the common key is "had" then I'll believe it. If the only proof is that image then I don't think I would buy into it given past experiences. I don't doubt Mario, NWplayer, and a few others (at all). Lol, just to be clear.
