Gaming Xbox 360 is stupid and need help!!

Hi, I'm no expert on this sort of things so I need your help here, guys.

I have a Xbox 360 and an external hard drive with a bunch of games in it. It has worked before but now the formatting is all wrong and the Xbox won't recognize it and I have transferred the games onto a PC and decided to format the drive on the Xbox. But when i go back to the computer the games can't be transferred back and it pops up 'The file cpx-jd3 is too large for the target file' (sorry, had to translate from swedish). And by the way
the hard drives format is FAT32.

I have not used my Xbox in months so this would be a really big help, thanks!

what is the size of CPX-JD3 if it's over 4GB it cannot be copied to a FAT32 drive only NTFS format.....................sudeki300

Every game is over 4GB.. So I need to format the drive back to NTFS??

Unless you can find a way to bypass the 4GB filesize limitation on FAT32, in which case you're gonna be the center of a LOT of talking.

Yeah, unfortunately you're gonna have to format back to NTFS. This is a hard drive for an ODDE like the Xk3y or something similar?

I have no idea what kind of hard drive it is. All i can say is that it's black and says 'WD' on it. But with the NTFS format the games can be put back in and the Xbox can recognize it as an hard drive then??? I'm so bad with technology ughh.

Right. Are you using it for an ODDE (optical disk drive emulator (Xk3y, wasabi, one or two others I'm forgetting) or are you using it with a JTAG or RGH or similar type of glitch-mod?

Regardless, if what you were doing before was putting the ISO in some location on the drive and it's now not working, then it is indeed formatted incorrectly. In My Computer on Windows, right click the drive and click Properties and you should be able to see whether it's NTFS or FAT32. Ought to be FAT32, unless your partitions got bungled up and you're suddenly missing tons of free space. Granted, I'm making up scenarios that likely didn't happen - if you did (for whatever reason) need to format the hard drive it sounds like it's the wrong partition type.

As long as the drive capacity matches up to what you expect it to be, right clicking the drive and clicking "Format" from the My Computer window, checking "Quick Format" and from the "File System" dropdown picking "NTFS" and clicking "Start" ought to set you straight. BACK UP ANY IMPORTANT DATA FIRST. MAKE SURE YOU ARE FORMATTING THE CORRECT DEVICE.

If your total capacity doesn't match up to what you expect it's likely that your partitions got messed up somehow. Definitely fixable but we'll jump in to that later if that's indeed the case. I doubt it is.
