Retroarch for almost everything minus GBA, MAME, N64 and maybe SNES (my device runs like crap with the SNES emu embedded in retroarch). Tincore keymapper for your joypad needs (I use a wiimote with a classic controller and an adapter for nes, snes, mega drive and atari joypads). It works better than other bluetooth IME's, less laggy and more responsive.

Snes9x Next is the Snes core in RetroArch and is actually one of the more accurate emulators, it could be the device isn't quite powerful enough for it.

I'm curious as to how good the Android version of Retroarch's N64 emulator is. Mupen64plus AE is still riddled with game breaking bugs apparently regardless of how powerful your phone is and there aren't any better alternatives. I can't even get N64 to work on retroarch, I only get a blank black screen with sound only. And attempting to change the graphics plugin to either glide or rice causes the game to crash back to retroarch's main menu (i've used the N64 emulator successfully on the PC version of retroarch so i am somewhat aware of how it's supposed to work). I don't know if it's because my device is too old to support it or if something else is messing things up. I'm sure it would be far too slow anyways, but I am curious how it compares to other N64 emus for android in compatibility. I'm also curious how well it runs on more powerful phones from the past couple of years.

Also, certain emulator cores have problems with my Moga Hero bluetooth controller. In particular, VBA Next, SNES9x Next, GenesisPlux GX, and PCSX Rearmed all suffer from this same problem (mednafen psx core crashes for me but I might need a bios or something, probably too slow anyways). Regular SNES9x, VBA-M and Picodrive detect and work perfectly with my controller (even the bsnes/higan core works fine with the controller despite the slowness). But the other cores I mentioned cause all the buttons besides the dpad to become unresponsive. They remain unresponsive when I bring up the retro gui as well (the green tinted menu accessed by hitting the back button). The touch controls still function and again my controller's dpad, but the ABXY buttons don't work. Very unusual. I haven't tried any other cores yet. May be yet another problem traceable back to my very outdated phone hardware.

The Cave Story support is extremely welcome though, works fantastically! Also interesting to see that the Picodrive core supports 32x roms, the only emulator on Android i've seen that supports that system (MD.emu supports sega cd but not 32x). And it even seems to run full speed and glitch free. Surprising.

EDIT- I found a nightly apk of retroarch that someone compiled of a newer version of the source code. It doesn't experience the controller glitches the official version from Google Play has. Controller remains responsive throughout and all the cores work properly from what i've seen. Though this particular version didn't have N64 support...

I currently don't have an Android device to test it out at the moment, but I'm very particular in how emulation is to be, sound being the biggest potential offender for my ears and such. I guess I could always look up videos on YouTube in the mean time ;) The biggest sound issues PSX sound has in emulators is the lack of Gaussian interpolation and synced audio (Final Fantasy VII through IX especially). Squaresoft/Square Enix used some very unorthodox soundfonts and sound effects in those games, very few emulators get those sounds right. If FPSE gets the sound/sound effects right, I'll be impressed :P I know of two plugins that get the sound emulation spot on.
I have sync enabled - I've tested FF IX and I haven't noticed anything wrong with the audio, but I seem to remember some minor GFX issues.
Not sure about gaussian interpolation, but you can enable "Reverb" and "Pitch".

Also, certain emulator cores have problems with my Moga Hero bluetooth controller.
I tried configuring my Moga Pro with it, but I seem to remember having a crapload of problems in doing it. I just can't stand the horrible GUI :(

RetroArch has almost every system emulated quite well. I use M64P-AE for N64 instead of this, but that's only because I set up my apps before RetroArch got N64, and I'm too lazy to switch over.
PPSSPP is the best PSP emulator, Android or not.
Dolphin is your only option for GC/Wii.

Gaussian interpolation, it adds the same kind of muffled audio that the Snes had, most plugins used Linear interpolation and sound "raspier" so to speak. :P A good way to compare would be listening to the voices in Star Ocean 2 with and without interpolation ;) The sound effects in the Final Fantasy games are extremely hard to emulate properly. I wonder if I should do some comparison tests.

Mupen64Plus-AE
GENPLUSDroid
DraStic (kinda leaning towards toward nds4droid... DraStic keeps getting worse, while nds4droid keeps getting better.)
Dolphin

Mupen64Plus-AE is the best there is. Period.

I have Mupen and Pretendo. I've seen Pretendo outdo Mupen in some areas, one is the fact that in South Park, Mupen gives characters 2 sets of eyes and textures on characters are borked. Pretendo displays them perfectly.

I THINK it also preforms a little bit better on Tony Hawk 3, or maybe I'm imagining it.

Also, How useable is Dolphin? I'd like to try it out when I get an SD card for my phone, but it's already struggling with some N64 stuff.
