    Hacking Fixing vWii Mode

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Hai (the Wii USB/eMMC launcher) is any different from regular Wii mode, and both have noticeable chroma artifacts. At least I can prove that 480p does lose some detail. Also, it looks like even my RVL-CPU-01 has a bit of chroma bleeding, but it's not really...

There's this, but I don't know if it still works. https://github.com/zhuowei/NUS-Downloader-WiiU

Gaming Wondering if I could use PPSSPP game data on PSP?

If you mean save data, yes, you can, but you need to encrypt/decrypt it using game-specific keys.

I think you can use NUSGrabber. https://gbatemp.net/threads/download-the-new-nusgrabbergui.411228/

    Hacking Fixing vWii Mode

Like what? (remember, we're taking about the raw output from the Wii U, not how well your TV processes it)

    Hacking Fixing vWii Mode

No, it's simple maths, because: 480p has way more overscan than 1080p (vWii just cuts off 16 pixels per side from the output) every single pixel is filtered, but there are not enough pixels to sample the picture faithfully (Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem) If you think 480p looks better, then...

Not at all. All pixels are interpolated for no reason (making everything blurry at <= ~912p), and it has the most overscan. 1080p looks much sharper, but the output still has 16 pixels of overscan (why, Nintendo???) and chroma shift.

    Hacking Fixing vWii Mode

There's a chance at least some of the issues are "caused" by the DMCU's firmware (remember that Wii SDK bug that makes everything blurry?). Does anybody know where it's stored? I've only found a hex dump in the vWii launcher.

Ransomware attack targets CD Projekt Red

Am I a bad person for hoping the Stadia executable of Cyberpunk 2077 gets leaked so we can play it natively on Linux, since CDPR won't release it officially?

    Hacking Fixing vWii Mode

Because the Wii was designed for CRTs and expects the TV to overscan, all Wii software actually has a black frame around the picture. vWii simply zooms in to get rid of the black borders (by applying a scaling filter to every single pixel), but there are not enough samples/pixels to do it while...

    Hacking Fixing vWii Mode

480p output is not enough pixels to get a sharp overscanned picture - it needs to be higher than the cropped/native resolution times 2, which is >912p (Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem).

It looks the same on both consoles to me (16:9 setting, 4:3 display). Also, he set his Wii U to 480p, which is a huge mistake since vWii looks much sharper at 1080p. The actual resolution of Wii software is less than 480p due to underscan, and vWii "zooms in" to compensate and get a full-screen...

    Hacking Fixing vWii Mode

Welp, there's a problem... Those files are part of the Wii U OS and modifying them will break the signature and cause a brick, and vWii cannot be launched from redNAND. Although there's a chance that modifying only the vWii-specific files won't cause a brick, it's still too risky. However, it...

    Hacking Fixing vWii Mode

I'd start by looking at the files in /storage_slc/title/00050010/1000400a/code, since it contains Wii Mode stuff like nn_cmpt.rpl, nn_hai.rpl, etc... More specifically, tve.rpl (some program that accesses the AV encoder settings), which is different from the one in...

    Pirated Windows 7 to 10

If you use Windows 10 without owning a product key, even if you don't "crack" it, it's still piracy. The EULA requires you to have a valid licence. You can activate it later, which is useful when you're testing a lot of hardware, but you still need to own a licence. Also, if you don't activate...

I love how insurance companies can deny procedures because they deem it not medically necessary despite the procedure being ordered by a doctor

I got a bad habit of taking out usb transmitter and loosing it because they can't you know print names on the damn things
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
But any desktop OS, I've never had anything but frustration trying to get Bluetooth devices to work reliably and stable. It might pair and connect once, and then next time I go to use it I have to delete and re-pair it again
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
5.3 has been so good I think 6 is really going to make it stable

Even my Xbox One controller I have it paired to my desktop over Bluetooth, it USUALLY works but sometimes it refuses to connect and I have to delete and re-pair it. Maddening

Gigabytes built in mobo bt/wifi pairs pretty decent

    That's what I'm using :(
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Ran a driver update in device manager?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Not recently but I think it's less a driver issue and more just Windows having a garbage Bluetooth stack
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Could be I was having issues when I first upgraded it and didn't realiser gigabyte has specific driver revisions which is stupid
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Which is married to the boards revision
