Hacking ROM Hack Notable DS/3DS mods or ROM hacks?

Posted a few on another thread like this but here are some I liked. CTGP-7 for MK7 Adds a plethora of custom tracks, characters, and a few plugins. Vapecord for Animal Crossing New Leaf Adds plugins for quality of life as well as hacks for bells and such TR4SH for SMB 3DS and WiiU Mainly...

Do you like games with more or less additional features?

It really depends on if those additional features add some extra, more useful or enjoyable functionality to the core loop, but isn't required to utilize. I dont really have many examples but as long as its not just feature creep or monotanous, im fine with a few more features.

What did you Accomplish in Gaming Today?

Yesterday after I got my first debit card I got SWAT 4, a game ive been wanting for over a year now. As of today I beat the Qwik Store mission in the campaign, where you and your team attempt to defuse a robbery in progress at a gas station, it took a few tries cause I was newer to the game but...

What are your favorite gaming experiences that are lost to time?

as someone who finally got their first check, for a whopping 50 bucks at that, I still feel that feeling of not being able to afford games, or anything to pleasure myself with.

What are your favorite gaming experiences that are lost to time?

Ive also seen a bunch of wii games like a 007 game where theres a gun accessory that you put your wiimote and nunchuck in. That might be a nice "modern" lightgun experience

What are your favorite gaming experiences that are lost to time?

I think this is more of super old memories that you cant really relive given how companies keep shutting down things, maybe you had a real good memory with friends on an MMO that was now shutdown.

Homebrew [WIP] Updated Godot Engine for 3DS Homebrew

More of the latter I assume. Especially because the original version before this only worked on 2.x I believe. Even if you could run full godot games you would probably need to get the project files for a game, which not all godot games are open source despite the engine being so itself. I do...

Homebrew are there any cool mods/rom hacks for 3ds games?

Is there any way I can play Blood (1997) on my 3ds?

I dont really know much about this and I should look into it my self, but there is a port of EDuke32 for the 3ds, which is based off the Build Engine, the engine Blood, Duke Nukem, and Shadow Warrior are made on. You might have some luck with that if as I did find a port of Blood for EDuke32.

Homebrew [WIP] Updated Godot Engine for 3DS Homebrew

This looks very promising! Hopefully this gets a bit more progress in the future unlike other attempts to update it. Would love to try this out for my own games since I use Godot as my main engine.

Homebrew [DISCUSSION] New Super Ultimate Injector (NSUI)

Hey. is it possible that there could be support added for forwarding to other emulators made by Bubbles2k17? There already seems to be support for Snes9x for o3ds but id love to see support for his other ports of VirtuaNES, PicoDrive, and TemperPCE for the o3ds. Thanks for anything in advance.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
