    Thanks for explaining. If I bought a game again I'd need to use an nnid still to do that right? I think I'll try to just get the old 3ds back to how it was, hopefully it won't be too hard. Still a 7 day wait to do another system transfer.

    Yeah I'd like to minimise risks. How do you know if a standard usb will work fine (with enough power)? Just try it and if it works, it works? Otherwise I'll need to buy a hard drive + y cable at some point :P

It would be useful since the SD card would stay put in the Wii and you would never need to think about removing the usb or losing it etc. I know that CFG can play both wbfs files and gamecube iso's from the SD card...
