There isn't really any true "starting point" for the Megami Tensei series unless you want to play the games in release order. Stuff like the timeline posted above that you'll see many versions of online aren't always correct and rely more on stretches/references than anything being an actual...
Carcassonne: This just seems like an adaptation of the board game rather than being a remake, if that makes sense.
Stratego: Next Edition: If you mean the original board game being remade for the DS then I'm also unsure if that counts. What does count is that the DS release seems to be ported as...
Yeah sometimes it's hard to tell if a game is a remake or a sequel especially when the games tend to be really similar or really different lol. I also already have the PS2 original release of Flower, Sun, and Rain bolded to show that it was a Japanese-exclusive title. Also, Populus DS just seems...
Added Jagged Alliance to the list. Though for X-Scape, wikipedia says it's a sequel to X from the Gameboy, not a remake. Do you know of any other sources that mention it is a remake? Regardless, thank you for the suggestions!
I haven't been able to verify any of those games myself but I'll add them anyway, thank you! Also added DScent as you suggested. As for other homebrew ports, I agree that they should be in a good enough condition before I add them to the list. Thank you again for the suggestions!
I think I should probably make an update post for this since I've still been updating the lists.
I have changed the cell colours to make it look a bit nicer. I've also linked to the main sources I've been using.
The main issue right now is that sources don't always specify if a game is a...
Thank you, Ian! As for your suggestions:
Dark Void Zero was indeed ported to PC at some point, as it does have a Steam Page but for some reason was taken off the store.
Flipnote Studio 3D seems to be considered just a "3ds version" of Flipnote Studio and not really a "port/remake for 3DS" from...
You're right that both Blue and Red Rescue Team was released at the same time. I think they still count on my list since they were released on different consoles. Technically speaking, Blue Rescue Team is a "port" (or enhanced port) of Red Rescue Team and so I think it makes sense to keep it on...
I was gonna write a whole thing about this but basically there's no comprehensive list on all the games that were Rereleased* to the DS and for DS games to other systems, so I made it myself.
*Rerelease = Rereleases/Remakes/Remasters/Ports/Enhanced...
I saw that there was a release of a similar patch on RHDN by spiderfreak1101 but that one is listed as a translation of the English release. Do you know if there's any differences between that patch and yours?
The other replies pretty much sum up most of my thoughts (that the ds scene isn't actually dead lol). Besides that, retiring from the scene is ultimately your choice and I hope it's a choice that you feel happy with. I wish the best of luck with your future.
@K3Nv2 I got some cheapies at wallys, that are pretty good, already have lost a few expensive ones (one falls out and gone, can't find) while cutting grass so bought some cheap ones, and of course never lose these cheap ones. (Cheap meaning only $35, compared to air buds which I only have 1 of 2 now)
