'Tales-like' Wii RPG
Immagine3-2.png

Here are some new details regarding 'Arc Rise Fantasia', a new turn-based RPG currently being developed by imageepoch and published by Marvelous.

NeoGAF said:
- Team making game composed of TOS' game designer, CG director, scenario writer, main battle programmer and other people from TOS.
- The game will have Tales-like optional Skits, opened by pressing 2 button.
- Weapons used in battle get level ups.
- Their abilities pop off in form of geometric pieces - think tetris. Trade pieces among party members or put them tetris style into frames of future weapons.
- Magical abilities are based on each character's 'cage' ,they can be leveled in special shops and fit with gems allowing casting of various elemental spells.
- Game has a brisk pacing-30 hours long.
- Sidequests-guild, casino. Casino has minigames that'll use ir/motion sensing capabilities of the Wii.
- Characters- NP only did the first four characters that were revealed a long time ago.
L'arc Bright Lagoon- mc, merc supports sick mom, and lecherous uncle.
Ryfia- mystery girl
Alphonse 'Arth' Zena Meridia- meridia prince, older bro is the king, L'arc's friend
Adelle Nevanlina- childhood friend/neighbor of L'arc, magic teacher

The release date for the game is still TBA, but hopefully it will come out soon!

Looks awesome. Definitely something to check out, as Tales of Vesperia was awesome (4-player co-op ftw!). Hopefully it'll be as good as some of the Tales games.

huh...

Luminous Arc dev team are the main developer..

the character design seem to be similar from Luminous Arc series and tales series....

looks quite amazing, beside the graphic...:S

this game should be on 360/PC/DS rather than Wii.....

The character designer is Kenichi Yoshida, who's probably famous for doing the character designs in Eureka Seven, and I think that's the only thing he's really done (aside from technical stuff like keynote animation and whatnot) which explains why I thought I was looking at Dominic while browsing the official website's character page.

Actually it doesn't look as bad as some of you made it out to be, the only picture I find to be horrible is the store(if that's even what it is)

Looks graphically generic, but the game could be good gameplay wise. Is it me or does the blond hero look like a recycled 3D version of Roland from Luminous Arc 2.

The term "PS2-tacular" comes to mind, as does "meh." Not too impressive. What's less impressive, though, is that the pickings are so slim on Wii -- not only in the RPG genre, but overall -- that some folks are actually excited for this game. And third parties wonder why they can't sell their products on the system.
