I have my SD card formatted for FAT as opposed to exFAT so I can run the homebrew easily enough. However the FAT format as a file size cap of 4GB. Does anyone know how I can install titles larger than 4GB onto my SD card?
Either split the NSP files or install your NSP files over a USB or FTP connection. Alternatively, you could just download your files using HBG and/or JITS.I have my SD card formatted for FAT as opposed to exFAT so I can run the homebrew easily enough. First, you can use emuNAND with Atmosphere. You don't need SX OS.Hello, I’m going to use sx os with emunand, I’m currently using atmosphere, i made a backup of my all saves using checkpoint, my question is when I restore them, they will be in emunand save partition? I’m planning to play some online games, so I don’t want to be banned
Thx for the fast reply! Merry XmasFirst, you can use emuNAND with Atmosphere. You don't need SX OS.
If you restore your Checkpoint save files while on your emuNAND, they will be on your emuNAND. If you restore your Checkpoint save files while on your sysNAND, they will be on your sysNAND. Whichever NAND you are going to use online should be kept clean, which means you shouldn't use any homebrew or piracy with it. If you're already using Atmosphere, then you need to make sure your online NAND is clean before going online with it.
An unpatched console refers to the hardware being unpatched because the exploit used is reliant on the hardware. This means that the firmware it is running is irrelevant as the software is not being exploited. The only console you can hack is your unpatched one as your patched unit's firmware is too high to use the other inferior exploit. If you want, you can transfer your unpatched console's data to your patched one.
YouTube guides are never recommended. They are often outdated and/or wrong.Hey guys,
just about top follow this guide
its pretty straight forward, except the final link for updated patches isn't no longer on this forum
Patches are in the description and linked to this forum
Even though this guide was released in May, is it still good to follow?
I dont want to be following a guide thats seriously outdated
TIA people
If your Switch is unpatched, the system version doesn't matter. Fusee gelee will work on it, and you're just fine.Hey guys,
So sorry to ask this n00bish question here but I cant' seem to find a definitive answer to the question I have, and in fact have been given contradictory information. I'm an Engineer for one of the major cloud computing companies so i'm confident I'm capable of doing whatever is necessary, I just need to know if its possible and to be pointed in the right direction.
I recently acquired a switch with an extremely low serial number and verified that it is exploitable based on that (XAW70004), however the previous user was just using it normally and has it upgraded to firmware 9.1.0.
I had one person tell me that I'll have issues running CFW on this due to the firmware being over 4.0, but then I read here on the forum (in the FAQ) that the serial numbers indicate vulnerability to a hardware exploit and it (seemingly) shouldnt matter? Maybe I'm misinterpreting something?
Ideally what im looking to do with this is run SXOS so I can take advantage of its stealth mode, but also switch back over to the switch normally to play online with friends. Ive looked at and understand the steps required to move back and forth between SXOS and normal/online usage, and im quite capable of following instructions on how to implement the exploits etc. Is it possible on 9.1.0 or not? If not, is there a way to roll back the firmware, or is that what the burning of these microfuses is preventing? Or am I just wasting my time here and should just use this as a normal online switch and look for one not updated to mod if I want to go that route?
Cheers,
Tigon
Your only exploit choice on an unpatched system on 9.1.0 is the fusee gelee exploit. You have no exploit options with the patched unit on 8.1.0.Is there a certain exploit that is better for the unit that I will be using? If I move my data from the unpatched running the latest firmware to the unit that is unpatched with 8.1 is there certain exploits that would be better used for it?
I havnt really done this since the wii back a while ago.
thanks

I jumped around the YouTube video, and it at least includes redundant steps that may also result in certain signature patch conflicts. I don't recommend it or any other YouTube guide for the reasons I mentioned above.Yea, im trying to get a visual rather than a written guide, the tutorial i been watching seems pretty legit, explains allsorts and has a few 100K subs. not like your run of the mill adfly kinda guy.
I know you gave me what to do kinda guide but has ive been away from the seen for a few years videos do help ore than written words. You got any good links tthat are updated to say after the last nintendo update for me? ive searched and most are bogus looking for click bait
If your Switch is unpatched, the system version doesn't matter. Fusee gelee will work on it, and you're just fine.
In addition, SX OS is not needed. Atmosphere is free, and you can use it to switch between a clean sysNAND for online play and a dirty emuNAND for game backups and miscellaneous homebrew.

If the sysNAND was updated, and the system is ipatched, then the Switch is unhackable.I have a patched unit that was on 4.1.0 I did a backup of the nand. 1 of my kids updated the fw to the newest can I restore it back to 4.1.0 or am I screwed?
Use title override when launching RetroArch. Don't use the album, and don't use the NSP.Just bought my switch today and loaded the latest Atmosphere 0.10.1 switch is currently running 9.0.0 every time I try to run RetroArch it will crash with error code 2168-0002(0x4a8) Is this a problem with Retro or did I do something wrong with the Atmosphere install
It sounds like a problem with the SD card. I would recommend running chkdsk /r with the SD card. You should also make sure the data partition is formatted as FAT32 if it isn't already.I have a an unpatched Switch running 2.3.0 that I bought a couple of years ago that I put in storage. Yesterday, I followed the NH guide and everything went fine and now I have latest Atmosphere running From emunand. However, the Switch freezes at random places when running Atmosphere. I havn’t installed any games or anything yet. The unit becomes unresponsible and I have to hard reset it. Am I missing something obvious?
