Hi all,

Maybe I've done something stupid here but I've switched to EmuMMC with OFW on SysNAND and CFW on EmuMMC.

I did this by
  1. Running CFW
  2. Backed up the SD.
  3. Partitioned SD in Fat32
  4. "Create an EmuMMC" in Hekate (still CFW).
  5. Restored my clean NAND to SysNAND for OFW.
  6. Then put all of my CFW back on the SD.
I assumed this would keep all of my CFW settings, saves etc. on the CFW in EmuMMC but when I boot to EmuMMC all of the games are there but I'm getting "The software data is not downloaded" when I click on a game.

What did I do wrong?

Figured it out, I didn't put the Nintendo folder in the EmuMMC folder.

I went to OFW with the CFW Nintendo folder in the root so I may get a ban.
There is no evidence Nintendo scans for files on the SD card. And even if they did, they would risk running into false positives so it is just not reliable.

Thanks, hopefully all good.

On another note, most guides I've seen have started from a clean SysNAND (i.e. restored clean NAND) and then EmuNAND from that. I basically EmuNAND'd my dirty NAND and then restored my clean SysNAND for OFW so I didn't lose all of my saves and settings in EmuNAND. This worked great but I'm a little worried now. I can't logically think why this would cause an issue?

I don't know either. If I were to make a guide, I would make them restore their clean NAND after setting up emuMMC. This way, they don't lose their save data or any installed content.

It worked great, and I can't see how I could be banned doing it because the SysNAND is still clean and Dirty stuff in EmuMMC. The guides just made me nervous.

Yeah, when you make an emuMMC, if you want to move your games from sysMMC to emuMMC you need to move the Nintendo folder from SD root into emuMMC/RAW1, which is where emuMMC stores it's SD contents. In theory it's possible to set emuMMC to use root for it's SD storage as well, but typically the point of emuMMC is to separate the two NANDs

some of the best selling games on the switch are wii u ports (that are priced way too high
like come on 60 for a game thats a decade old??)

@ColdBlitz, i forgot breath of the wild released for the Wii u
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
$60 for a game that's a decade old might be unheard of on PC but actually is not uncommon on consoles

especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but they don't seem to have done any of those for the switch yet and maybe never will
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I think we all forgot breath of the wild released for the wii u tbh

@The Real Jdbye, tbh the HD collections are more justified since they include more than just 1 game per copy

@SylverReZ I read that non-binary people identify as a blend of male and female. The point is i think i'm a blend of those and thus non binary
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Non-binary people are those who don't identify themselves exclusively as male or female.
