No you don't need vwii, that's what wiivc is for. Yes all games can go on hard drive then and you don't need nintendont. I've only been using this a week and it's brilliant
Are you serious? This is really cool then!!! Can anyone else confirm?

I've managed to get a Kirby game working but I when loading Wii Sports Resort or No More Heroes I get a black screen and I have to unplug my console to turn it off. What could be going on?

@FIX94 Do you know why I can't patch Majora's Mask (NARE) with GetExtTypePatcher?
Patching 00000001.app gives the error 'input is not a dol file'

What I noticed with Wii's N64 VC's (WAD files), when you try to patch the 00000001.app file with GetExtTypePatcher, message will say nothing to patch, I've tried several in the past and always get the nothing to patch message. This just tells me that the N64 WAD's can't be patched to force CC. I did try MM and got the same message as you.
So I guess N64 WAD's are not compatible in GamePad mode.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I just create a game for GC but it dosn't see memory card. Games works well, but I can't save state.

Use the "Nintendont SD Card Menu" option and tick the Memcard Emulation, then save the config file to your SD CARD.

When injecting Wii games, make sure your injecting the same region as your console, if your EUR/PAL region, and you try to inject a USA region Wii game, in most cases it will boot o Black Screen, this is due to the video modes encoded in the game doesn't support PAL video modes. If you don't have access to the same game region as your console, use the Patch Video Mode option in the Advance tab and use the NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC.
Past experience, NTSC to PAL seems to work better for PAL region consoles.
In saying that, there are some games that have both region's video modes encoded in the game, that is why some games work and some doesn't.

I've been successful with patching OoT (NACE), so it seems that some N64 WADs are compatible, but not others.

Yes, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, also the Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort bundle, the NTSC to PAL doesn't work, you need the PAL version.

I need some help. I'm to play megaman 9 and 10 using the wiiu gamepad. I made a topic here:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/is-there-a-way-to-play-mega-man-9-and-10-with-the-gamepad.523982/

Someone there said to use this injector script. But I don't understand how it works. I already have the games installed on my vwii. They are legit retail versions that I paid for and downloaded from the wii shop channel. How do I play them using the wii u gamepad.

Do this:

- Launch the script.
- Select vWii NAND Title Launcher.
- Enter the WiiWare Game ID: See below
Title ID:
Mega Man 9: WR9E
Mega Man 10: WRXE
- Click Download images from cucholix's repo to auto download the games Icon and Banner.
- In the GamePad/Meta Options tab, enter the game description.
- Select Classic Controller Emulation.
- Go to the last tab: Build Title, and click the BUILD button.

The files generated will be WUP/USB format, transfer to SD CARD and use your preferred WUP installer to install.

This is JUST a forwarder, you MUST already have the WiiWare game installed in vWii, which you already have.

Launch game from the WiiU Menu, select GamePad mode, after a few moments it will boot into vWii mode and launch your WiiWare game with GamePad support.

Note:
FYI:
you can only inject one game at a time, once you finished with the the first game, repeat for the second game.

Not true. You can inject multiple games at a time, though obviously, you can only build one game at a time using the injector tool.
Once you've built X number of games, you can copy them all to an sd (assuming the sd card can hold them), and install multiple via WUP installer (gx2)

Sorry, after re reading what I wrote, for some it could be a different meaning, what I was trying to say was what you said, using the injector tool you can only BUILD one game at a time.
Thanks for clearing that part up.

Are you able to provide us with the FULL file/folder path of where you have this script located?

Reason why I ask is that for some, the reason they got this message, and other error messages because they had some weird characters in the folder path, keep it nice and simple (no spaces preferred) and not to many sub directories.
Also the local username of your account can also be an issue if you have some characters where this script doesn't like, providing your full path would help us determine if this is the case or not and troubleshoot from there.

ah
Location of the script program on your PC, example:
C:\Users\Owner\Desktop\Inject

Also doesn't hurt to provide the location of the ISO files as well.
ah thank you let me do both
Script: C:\Users\amtzv\Downloads\TeconMoons WiiVC Injector [3,0,1]
ISO: D:\

the ISO is in another drive so that explain why its short

Ok, I think your issue is this part "[3,0,1]", just rename this folder to something simple like "inject". Then try again.

The ISO location should be ok.

So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
