Here's the feedback. I booted it up today and my eyes were wide open after I entered "startx". It took a bit to boot up but was working very nice from there ... at least from a functional point of view. Technically everything's pretty slow as you said. Also it's pointless without WiFi (I don't have a LAN adapter) and I wasn't able to figure out how to use Bluetooth tethering but as a proof of concept it's just pretty cool.
Unfortunately the only pre installed game (Chromium B.S.U.) did not run. I guess it would have lagged badly nevertheless lol.

Good link. As written there WINE won't work on Wii U's PPC but QEMU might help.
However if even dragging a terminal window around takes ages, this won't get us any far unless we have some sweet graphic drivers.
It's worth getting it to run though so we can enjoy it right away when drivers are finished.
LXQt working! It seems equals to xfce4 as speed so not that much of changes, but still a nice UI! I would like to try Android as there is a PPC build owo
Yeah I know, there aren't gpu drivers so any graphic thing is very slow, but my will was to find the desktop environment that would take the least resources

please... try do a script or a step-step how to install the desktop environments without autostart the X.org server i know that will became slow too but see gnome3, enlightment, mate, kde, openbox running on wiiu will be very cool xD

I'm doing good, just made my first drink of the day, so better now, Captain and Coke today. I had to cut grass all day, then get my hair cut. I messed with my wifey, she knew I was going to get hair cut, and I went and bought a purple dyed wig, and came home wearing it, she freaked out, thinking I dyed my hair purple, was funny.+1 -

Damn, I haven't been on here in while. My wife and I went on a mushroom trip like 10 years ago. A friend had a PS3TV with the glasses and some racing game. It hit when I was playing the game and I freaked out because I thought I was really driving and crashed. -
