A truly sad and pathetic example of how petty Nintendo is. Don't get me wrong, piracy is illegal and they had every right to go after the person who uploaded their IP, but to sue someone that age for that amount of money is insane. Nintendo actually thinks that its okay to RUIN some young guy's life over one game like that. As his father stated, there was no malicious intent, he did not profit from the leak, he just made a stupid choice trying to make some friends. Plus, Nintendo even commented itself that despite the leak, it was one of the top selling games for the console. Obviously this guy couldn't have done THAT much damage if your "pirated" game is still a fucking TOP SELLER.
agreed, the game didn't even work for a while, so lets say only a quarter of the people who downloaded it actually played it.A truly sad and pathetic example of how petty Nintendo is. What really went on here is clear: Nintendo wanted to make an example out of him. Its honestly disgusting in my humble opinion. I agree that there should have consequences for the person's actions, but the cash amount and the conditions (such as not being allowed to comment on the event) are just FAR beyond what he deserved or what I personally feel would be reasonable. I guess this is to be expected form a company who gives literally 0 shits about their fans and still thinks NES games from the 80's are worth $15 in 2017. Seriously Nintendo, get your shit together.

The hilarious part is that guy could never have had enough to pay that judgement let alone the court fees, so essentially Nintendo just spent money to do fuck all.
Wow Nintendo, you bankrupted someone who had fuck all anyway and butchered their credit record for 4 years.
Good job legal team, well thought out.
They ruined someone's life. It makes me sick to think that someone at Nintendo thought it was OKBut he's now an example of what could happen if you mess with the Nintendo overlords.
