I like this discussion.

I didn't like SMG2 as much as SMG1, mainly because they really took away that little of story there was, and also because it felt mostly like a big DLC to SMG1. I loved SMG1, loved the simple story and the way it was told, finished it 100% in one month at the first run, I just liked the atmosphere, and enjoyed the quality of the game.

I played a lot SSBB, having played only the N64 one, I really liked it. Then tried Project M and really really liked it, now I have difficulties playing Brawl, but I still find it a great game. Also SSE had an awesome story.

Mario Kart Wii was ok, I played and still play it a lot, but in my opinion it was not as good as Double Dash, something that MK8 did get right instead.

New Super Mario Bros I did play it to the end, 100%, but never touched it again. Nor had interest in trying the mods of it.

Pandora's Tower is an awesome game, I still can't figure out how that thing runs on Wii.

Mario Party 8 was really bad to me, I did play 4, 5, 6 and 7. 8 felt really really bad.

So, while I agree Wii Games mostly are really bad, I did enjoy what it offered. The Wii itself is a great console, but I think it suffers the fact that really a few devs considered it a good console, other just did awful games, not even trying to push the hardware.
A good example I always use is Dirt 2, which seems a port of the PSP version, rather than PC/PS3/X360 one. As a comparison, Test Drive Unlimited on PSP is an awesome port, really similar to the PC counterpart. if that can be done on a PSP, I see no excuses to make such rubbish games on Wii.

P.S.: I also agree the fact that the Wii had retrocompatibility maybe was the best thing the Wii had to offer, second to the WiiMote, which I used a lot on the PC.

Sounds like someone needs a psychologist...
My psychologist has mediocre taste in games, he also advocates pacifism, these two realizations about his personality traits have actually worsened my depression.

It felt about the same for me, but I played 1 & 2 years apart and also only played the 2nd for a few min.

I don't think I felt like using the Wiimote at the time either.
When I was younger, I played SMG1 at a shopping mall, it felt good, but never fully captivated me to purchase the game. As an adult I would think that my interest in the series has declined even further.
Similarly, as a child I was enthralled and encaptivated by Mario Kart Double Dash, but as an adult, I find the music to be rather annoying. I can, however, recognize that Double Dash does have several good core gameplay elements, and is a generally well-balanced game, and thus a good game, though perhaps not the best of the Mario Kart series.

Don't give OP any more attention.
That's exactly what trolls want to achieve.
You raging over them, it means they achieved their goal of tickling your sensitive spot.
If I did not know any better, I'd say you were a troll, based on some of your earlier comments in this thread.

Filippo94, I had also played New Super Mario Bros., but the "game feel" of it felt hostile to my aesthetic consciousness. I was met with relief, when, browsing the internet, I discovered like-minds who found the music to be as annoying as I did.

Please delete this, I'm not even joking now
That is rude.

The Munchables and Little King Story are a must play. Munchables can be finished in about 3-4 hours.
Can you tell me more about this and explain why it is a must-play?

Ikr. How does a Wii make someone suicidal? They obviously haven't seen the impressive hacking scene ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
You do have a point.
Had I had more friends, and had they taught me how to modify Wii games, I would probably modify many Wii games as I saw fit, to make them more playable and stimulating.

Wow, you're that averse to pacificism?

Don't play Undertale.
I was never interested to play Undertale, the aesthetics and gameplay did not captivate me to play. But I have a mild-interest in it, as it is a game-maker/indie game, and I am interested in spectating the efforts of the indie-scene.

Ya don't need friends to teach you things, you can learn them yourself. There are a bunch of articles detailing the process, and while it might take some research and synthesis on your part, you could make it happen.

I am afraid, it is too late, and the negative effects of not having friends has already cemented. You see, I have gone without friends for so long, that I no longer have the motivation to modify Wii games into amazing games and beautiful titles.

BS. I was friendless for a long time, and I'm still able to teach myself this kinda stuff. It's never too late.

What does that even have to do with ANYTHING? Are you literally just seeking attention now?

I feel like this thread slipped in from another dimension.
I actually feel like I have slipped into another dimension. I feel like my connection into this world is fading. For instance, when I hear music on the radio, I cannot stand it, and it feels like I have entered the wrong world.

I have chronic depression. It is too late for me. Sometimes I am too depressed to move. Thankfully I have disability income for mental illness, so I don't have to go out and socialize at work.

I am simply stating reasons for phenomenon. It is simply stating the causality of apparent physical behavior. I apologize if my explanations of causality bothers you.

The spiderman post is very clearly attention seeking.

Ok, so let me get this straight:
  • You turned on your computer
  • You went to GBATemp.net to create an account
  • You use that account to complain about your depression
  • ????
If you want to complain like this, go to GameFAQs or IGN or something.
But you are missing the role Wii had in my depression. And my reviews and critiques of the Wii era. Both are very fitting for a Wii subforums.

Well no surprise there, the radio sucks and plays mostly terrible music. Try Spotify.

If he IS seeking attention, you're the one giving to him. Unwatch the thread, friend, and forget its existence if it it irks you so. I don't agree with his views myself but I'm not going to say that he shouldn't have his own opinion. If anything I would get into why some Wii games are great and why they should capture his attention.

gamelord - There are plenty of consoles and games to choose from, why dont you try another style of games/platforms? Emulation is another option too, just explore different genres or franchises. I can understand the point of your post, but instead of wasting time here writing weird comments about games and a console, you could find some fun right now playing a great game alone or with some friends.

You seem awfully fatalistic. Remember that you have the power to change, both yourself and the life you live.

Also, posting about how the Wii gave you depression is a bit off-topic; not everyone cares about your feelings on something, sadly enough, and the topic is not very widely applicable or shared.

Admittedly so. :P

Due to my low income the government provides, I cannot afford the expenses of another console, nor can I afford the expense of a computer high-end enough to perform a decent emulation.
However, I have spent my time on the XBOX 360, but it has dried out my emotions of longing for it, and my hype for it has long since died.

Spotify seems hipsterish and modern, which is aesthetically displeasing to me, however, even if it contains great songs, there is still an underlying problem. The underlying problem is that music no long lifts my spirits like it used to. I realize that my life is hopeless, and that even great songs cannot save me. I used to listen to great Nintendo songs, such as mario songs, f-zero songs, and various other videogame songs, but they no longer lift my spirits.

That is a capitalistic fantasy. Capitalism says that everyone has the power to be rich, but sadly, the vast majority of American souls die in poverty.
