This is really embarrassing! Are we living in 2017 or 2006 LOL. I know they didn't put the friend codes back into play
Whats so hard about just adding a friend the normal way, Nintendo has failed already, when will you people learn.
Dunno why you had to bother quoting anyone for your asinine post, but friend codes aren't going to be the primary method of adding later. It'll be Nintendo user ID.

Out of curiousity, do you have a source to that? I would like to notify my friends about this.

You'll need their friend codes before you can notify them tho... :rofl2:

Seriously tho, I think the ASSUMPTION is that once the stupid smart device app is out and/or the FULL experience is out in the fall that at that time friend codes will be a thing of the past.
IMHO, I think nintendo is basically piggybacking switch traffic on the same servers/network/infrastructure that 3DS and Wii U are using today and that's why it's free at the moment. I'm betting they are still designing/building the new online experience and a system update will be required at that time to reprogram the switch's "nintendo network" settings and such to connect to that new environment. Makes sense for multiple reasons. Including making sure you have to accept another firmware update in case any developments in the homebrew/hacking scene come out before then. Just like the "no browser / YouTube / netflix / Hulu / etc" bullshit is most likely about not wanting a full browser framework open to the system since every hacked nintendo device from the Wii on up got hacked via the browser. But I digress...
