Who's the defeatist now ;)

I won't be "playing my game", haha, I've had my fill of Zelda on Wii U, because of the framerate. Mechanically, it's pretty great, nothing mind blowing, but it's fun. You have to look past the visual quirks it you want to enjoy it fully. Like I said before, yeah, Nintendo under-delivered on the graphical aspect, but the gameplay is as expected, and for what's there, it's an okay compromise. I mean, we all did play Ocarina on the N64 at about 20fps, it's not the worst thing in the world, just an annoyance. Were the trailers dishonest deception? I doubt it. The game obviously had a lot of developmental issues, and it's clear Nintendo delayed it many times to get it to run as well as they could get it. Is there an issue in the industry where companies deceive consumers with dishonest intentions, and does that need to be recitified? Certainly. Is BOTW one of those issues where we should raise our pitchforks at? Probably not.
Well... they certainly didn't show the HUGE frame drops in the trailers.. so yeah, liars xD

I still have to agree with the OP as of now. Something just looks off, maybe I watched too many switch videos of it, idk. Oh well, its still fun to play even though it drops frames :s

Am I crazy or is everyone complaining about a game that hasn't even been released yet. Isn't it possible that a early update could fix these issues? Everyone needs to settle down and let this play out. I'm definitely waiting to see what happens before I ruin a Zelda game because I had to have it before it released.

I kept saying that there may still be an update to fix this, but that was during the first few pages.
And if a thread gets 10+ pages then no one will EVER read the first few pages again.

What's really strange is that a lot of people are saying about the frame rate in kakariko yet I have visited kakariko several times without any frame rate issues. Not sure if it's because I have a super fast hdd that is 15000 rpm the normal speed of a hdd is 7500 rpm.

The Wii U has a gimped version of USB 2. Your drives speed means little and less. The protocol and the aforementioned connector are the limiting factors.
Also... The HDD doesn't even factor into this.

So why then have I and several other people I know have had zero issues with frame rate at all in the game?? Yet others have. I am about 8 hours in

My HDD has read-speeds far in excess of anything the Wii U could even handle. Almost ANY hdd you can even find today, outside of retro-shops and goodwill, exceeds this by a giant margin.
Do not worry about the hdd anyone uses. It is inconsequential.

Alright, lets try to figure this out:

White or Black Wii U?
Controller method?
USB/SD? Speed? Brand?
Haxchi/Mocha/Other?
Any game in the disc tray?
Last time your Wii U got cleaned?
Connected to Wifi or not?
TV/Gamepad? Both?
Anything else connected to the Wii U except TV and USB/SD?
Region of Wii U?
Describe issue or not:

But you still never answered my question into why alot of people have had zero issues with frame rate yet others have.

That fact is that BoTW is far better frame rate control than the current games playing on PS4, such as The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy XV, Horizon etc.... So please stop complainting about frame rate drop on the discontinued console. At least we still have a big adventure ahead to play with.

I'll see how my 7 year old Vizio Tv does with both the Switch and WiiU versions on Friday. My friend and I both agreed, have to see it ourselves to see the fps drops. Don't tell me to get a new TV, I don't want a new one.

Cool, might want to add the region of wii u being used too. Could always be some weird region thing.
