has anyone been able to successfully import textures and then use them on the game? I have been able to get to the files but ohana3ds won't let me import models.

*unpacker and Ohana*
How do you actually use these? I unpacked a/1/7/0, edited some textures, and then dragged the folder onto the unpacker, but the .garc it spits out just gives me a black screen when I try to load it in SaltySD.

EDIT: Never mind, fixed it. I used pk3DS to unpack and repack it instead, and that worked.

I have the edited textures that I made.. When I click the import button, and select my edited png files, as I would have on the the previous OrAs version, nothing happens. Here's a screenshot of the png files ohana3ds exported from the .bin (yes it saved as .tga.png, I didn't change that, but I tried saving files as just .tga and still nothing)

Edit: Here is the screenshot, sorry I forgot to add it (not really sure why it's so big):

Does anyone have an answer to this? I'm having the same problem.

If you're using the Ohana3DS that was posted a few posts up, you need to use the BCH texture replacer (it's in the Tools menu) to replace textures.

How do I use that? whenever I click on it, it says "unsupported file format" because the files aren't .bch

Edit: Yes I am using the newest version of ohana3ds

Are there any official threads on pk3ds or ohana3ds for sun/moon? I want to know so I can make sure I'm always using the right version

I cannot import any file to BIN file neither. ORAS file extention is .bch, however SunMoon file extention is .bin.
I also wants to know why we cannot import any file into the bin file...
Download the one that @Bidoofguy just linked, it should work with the BCH replacer. You're probably using the wrong version of Ohana3ds

Whoops, probably should've mentioned that. If you have .BIN files, just change this option to "All (*.*)", and then open them as usual. They are supported, even though they're not in the 'supported' list.

Thank you for your kindly support, MegaKyurem and Bidoofguy.

I downloaded Ohana3DSGotTexture exe file, however I am facing .Netframe work error of NullReferenceException and I cannot import the PNG file...
I think I need OBCHTextureReplacer, then I download and build the latest Ohana3DS and get the Tools file.
However, I am facing the same issue.. Is there any idea to resolve this issue?

Do you have all of the files from the .zip in the same folder? The folder with the exe file in it should look something like the screenshot I included. If it's already like that, then I'm not sure. I don't know that much C#

Edit: my cursor had selected a different exe, but the one that you run is "Ohana3DS Rebirth.exe"

Unfortunately, it seems all files are included in the folder...

I want to know why we cannot import my PNG file cannot import into my BIN file..
Does anyone try to import my PNG file into a/1/9/6 036.bin with BCHReplace?
Perhaps, my PNG files are corrupt or different format...

I'm still unable to import SM pokemon textures (a/0/9/4) textures back to bin using Ohana3DS. I know that @Reisyukaku was able to generate image.bin in a rgb565 format. I can only output rgb565 bmp using photoshop. Anyone knows how to make image.bin in that format?
You don't need to save the images as .bin.. Drag the texture's .bin file into Ohana3ds, then click export, and select all textures. Edit them, and make sure to save them as .png (because they were exported as .png). Then click file then BCH Texture replacer. when you click on the BCH texture replacer, press O and then select the bin file of the texture. Click replace, or replace all, to import the png textures Then press S once you have finished importing the images. You now have edited textures, do this as many times as you want to other files, then repack the folder of .bins.

Thanks again, Mmm... I am still facing the same issue.

/// Current Issue
I can select the PNG file, however error message will pop up and cannot recognize the PNG file..
I think this error message "NullReferenceException" means I do not have appropriate file path of BCH texture replacer source.

So I think I will want to rebuild it myself with Visual Console.
Can I find out the source code of Ohana3DSGotTexture(Not official build of https://github.com/gdkchan/Ohana3DS-Rebirth what I already build, however I can only choose .bch file...)?

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
