But I don't have nothing named home menu in Extra Data good friend.
*sigh, you will have to access the sd card on an external device like a pc, tablet, or phone. it will not just be called homemenu extra data, here
Clear Home Menu’s extdata by navigating to the following folder on your SD card: /Nintendo 3DS/(32 Character ID)/(32 Character ID)/extdata/00000000/
EUR Region: Delete 00000098
JPN Region: Delete 00000082
USA Region: Delete 0000008f
KOR Region: Delete 000000A9
TWN Region: Delete 000000B1

@jt_1258

Thank you wonderful person.

Ok, soundhax work on my O3DS EU, 11.0.0.33 like a charm.
OOT3DHAX work too, just inserted hax to my Ocarina of Time Selects.

Did you download the proper otherapp matching your 3ds' model/version/region and renamed it "otherapp.bin"?
Did you renamed your .m4a file to "soundhax.m4a"?

Try enabling the "display extension" feature if you're on windows and see if you have something like "otherapp.bin.bin" instead

I'm guessing this got lost, but I'd still like an answer. I'm sorry for being a hypernoob
Between 9.0 and 9.2, you can boot emunand using whatever cfw you like (luma, rxtools, etc) and you can also run homebrew from your sysnand without the need of booting into emunand first.[/u] install menuhax on sysnand to set up some bootmanager. On 8.1, the second part is not possible

Right, but I guess what I'm asking is what changed after 9.2 to make it so that a basic kernel exploit wasn't enough to reload into a cfw (I've now figured out why that won't work with soundhax now, btw, since this is only userland. At this point it's just me trying to understand stuff)

That's because the arm9 kernel exploit used to boot cfw was fixed on 9.3+ and the actual payload used for homebrew works only on 9.0+, so from 9.0 to 9.2 we have all the benefits

From what i heard, the exploit was not fixed in 9.3, but on 9.5... The hacks are just not made to run on 9.3-9.5 (Thats what i saw one time here in GBAtemp, i dont remember where or when i saw it. But im sure i did)

That's right.
I saw some "pasta" that let you install non-signed cias on 9.3 and 9.4 IIRC

Thanks, I just realized I've been misunderstanding what you were saying lol. I was associating A9 kernel with A9LH, which are two very different things

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.
