It's called the Nintendo Switch. Rumors are true, it's a tablet with connectable buttons that you can play at home and on the go. Console Controller looks similar to the Xbox One's. Has small little remotes and supports multiplayer. NBA game being shown. 3D Mario title. When you connect the portable controllers the system goes from console to portable. Skyrim and Splatoon shown. From what I could tell it looks like this is an opposite of the Wii U. All the hardware is inside the tablet. That stand thing just outputs video to the TV and probably charges the tablet at the same time.

And exactly that scares me, Vita games stretched to an big TV are looking terrible because the games are rendered in lower resolution (good for small screens but bad on big screens). Its hard or basically impossible to put high end parts in small devices if your aim is relatively "affordable price range" (Nintendos mind). If they want 3rd party support they better be at least on par/near PS4/XONE consoles specs wise.

Im not expecting a powerhouse but come on...... the better the console is as a whole system, the bigger the games library would be.

First-day buyer over here for sure; this new console looks absolutely wonderful! Came home just now to see the trailer!

The name "Switch" is questionable for me; could've been a bit more creative, but I'll take it lol. It's the design that counts mainly for me after all, and I am saying that this design I will absolutely enjoy in my household!

To all users complaining about the name, remember when they announced the Revolution name will be "Wii" ? everybody complained too.

i don't want console-like gaming experiences on the go, i think handhelds and cnsoles should be seperate 2bh. I wonder if this negates a 3DS successor now if true dam that kinda sucks

If you want a home console only, never put it away from its support.
If you want a handheld only, never play the game on your TV.

One hardware to please both user's preferences.

Ugh this is exactly what I expected. Although the idea of portability is good for fans but making a handheld and stationary console in one is probably going to make Nintendo lose money. Great for consumers that want one console for the go and at home but it merges Nintendo's two markets.

The idea of splitting the controller for 2 player was an interesting idea. Great for games on the go like Mario Kart, Mario party and other Nintendo multiplayer games.

I hope the Switch is powerful enough to complete with PS4, XBONE. I want to see some titles to be across all systems like the next Elder Scrolls, Resident Evil or Metal Gear games. 3rd party support will be the linchpin of this console. It would also be cool if Atlus ported over Persona 5 to the Switch. Maybe something like Persona 5 Portable.

Again I'm not happy with this news, I was hoping for a console and not some hybrid. If it's half assed like the WiiU then Nintendo is in big trouble. They could lose even more fans and that would be unfortunate.
