compatibility is crap, while some games work perfectly most games dont work at all.
Play the ones that don't work on vWii. The ones that do work, work excellently. I don't think there's much to complain about in the Wii U's N64 VC emulator.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

The games themselves work fine, but compatibility is low and most injects don't work well; DK64 runs fine too, the problem is the emulator uses linear audio interpolation, whereas other emulators, even PJ64 gets it right; the audio sounds raspy in Rare games. They use Gaussian interpolation in the real hardware, not linear, bad choice on their part. The forced 4:3 is something I don't like, I should be able to force-stretch it to fill the black borders; Mupen 64 would be so much better. 512 mbit ROMs don't even work on Wii U.
Ah ok that's interesting

512Mbit are 64MB right?
If that's it, then I recall Resident Evil 2 playing just fine on my end, only problem was when you had to reload the game, it had a slowdown when you do so, but when you just reset it it played wonderfully.
I'm not sure about Conker's though.

Yup, their N64 emulator, while more accurate in terms of RDP/RSP emulation goes (the alpha dithering effect in Super Mario 64 was too much for regular Wii), Rare games for some reason sound really compressed/distorted in the audio
department. I took the liberty of isolating the audio samples

The difference is night and day, even other emulators don't exhibit that issue, Nintendo can't right emulators that well, though I hear the VC Snes emulation on the N3DS is much better.

Oh and the real deal breaker? Nintendo can't emulate the controller pack worth crap, other emulators can, so why not them?

But wasn't that the Japanese version only? And that you had to use a config file? See, that there is a pain, there should be a way to universally load ROM injections without pesky configs.
Other games like Conker and Pokemon Stadium 2 are 64 MB/512 mb.

I feel like IOSU is a big lie.

Apparently this needs to be stated every few days. I should start numbering IOSU opinions, /r/Jokes style.

EDIT: Now I have! This is #3: "none of this was ever real". List here.

O Rly? I don't recall dat u can play star road on Wii... :/

Seriously, I thought that injection would work if you inject to the right game (IIRC A game that has enough memory), but nooooo, the compatibility is shit... >:(

I had a rant about IOSU the other day, sure salt team did some good with the 3DS and fair credit to them for the hack, as for IOSU there has been nothing developed and no word from any of their dev's on here as to how their hack is progressing, so my guess is they have lost interest in it and the project is dead and was just hot air been blown up our arses....

so in that I'm calling out any dev's of SALT team show us some proof you guys are actually developing an IOSU or give us an update on the current progress of it ??

Oh boy, a callout post!
Everything's coming along well. Userland UI is getting locked in and we're starting to implement those features. In the last few days I've personally done a heap of RE to unlock a bunch IOS-side resources for use in PPC homebrew, as well as mostly rewriting our entry code from scratch to cut boot time (by like 15 seconds!) and get stability up to 100% under all conditions.
Tangentially related - debugging is a breeze on our stuff since you can get very verbose post-crash logs even after the entire PPC-side system has seized up. We're super excited to get that functionality in developers' hands. Here's an example of some random browser crash I still have open in notepad++ as an example. We've actually fleshed out logging with our own additions too, but we'll talk more about that later.
Sorry things are taking so long, but the good thing is we're definitely starting to get a good grip on exactly what still needs to be done still before we can release!

I'm pretty sure that IOSU exploit is the last hope for the scene, it will have the same effect as henkaku on the psvita scene.

#2 - "Help me IOSkaku, you're our only hope!"

yes I'm actually doing this now; here's a list. Feel free to edit in whatever opinions you come across although you must tell the poster of the opinion about the list and their opinion's ID number so they can just use that in future.
