Vita Game Dumper Leaked

N6NYRdW.png

The PS Vita game dumping tool, known as Vitamin, has just been leaked and is being tested and, so far, confirmed to be legit.

I am personally testing it by dumping one of my game cartridges (Gravity Rush) as we speak and everything looks good so far!

Needless to say, expect a huge surge in PS Vita sales (if you can still find one!) on both new and used units, as well as price hikes in the already notoriously expensive Sony Vita memory cards.

As a side not, please do not attempt to run this tool yourself until developers can confirm it is safe! It -may- brick your device!

So if anyone can tell me if they find a difference in the fps with the clock speed mod, that be nice. :)
Actually, when I tried out the clock speed at 166MHz in Tearaway, nothing really changed. However I am beginning to wonder if this plugin just behaves the same way as clock speed mods on an N3DS, where it only affects loading times in games and not the speed/framerate in games...

That's on a per game basis. Senran Kagura Burst for example, does run significantly better with N3DS clock speeds enabled.

I haven't played Tearaway but the art style alone tells me it's a 30 fps game, is that correct?

Well, some games run significantly better at 804MHz on N3DS.
Maybe it'll be the case here too.

Ah; I was afraid I would be sorta wrong there. My apologies. ^^'

Looking at it, it feels more like ~24 fps... Could be wrong.

Haha, thought so :D And since it's rather simplistic, we can safely assume that it's hardcoded to said frame rate, so a change in clockspeed wont change anything in that case.

If the game is naturally designed to be at lower framerates than 60FPS than the overclock won't do anything about it but stablelize the framerate. It won't improve it. You could tell if the game has slowdown or lag issues. So it just depends on the game. Even psp games with overclocking had no change in improved frames if it wasn't designed to be that way. Dead or alive paradise is one example is always 30 FPS and so is dissidia final fantasy. A game like Megaman Powered up or maverick hunter or Street fighter alpha 3 max are all 60 FPS games while the others are 30FPS. If you notice actual Framerate issues with maintaing stability, this will only improve stability not increase frames.

Is a per game basis to actually notice a difference, Unless the game itself is patched to remove limitations.

I remember on some games on original PSP launching backups for some reason would end up running slower than UMD on the original PSP. Like GTA games.
I'm not sure why that was, but you just pushed it to 333 and it worked fine.
I wonder if there will be similar cases making that tool useful on PSV.
