If I can't get Rednand to work at all I probably will just wait for this update then cause I've tried multiple times deleting and replacing all the luma files and I followed everything exactly on Part 3. Autoboot sysnand was never checked for me yet it always like boots into sysnand and I always checked Show current nand in system settings. I tried 5.5 already, no difference same with 5.4 and so on..
Do you definitely have a RedNAND? Boot into emuNAND9 and see what it says on the bottom of the top screen (either this SD is not configured for emuNAND/this SD is already set up for emuNAND, something like that)

in fact, i dont think the EmuNand update was necessary.
So, i finished two 3ds a9lh_hack without updated emunand, surely succeed.
be aware, just keep at least one 9.2 NAND backup.

The update was to ensure that there wasn't anything half-assed (like a gw downgrade) or missing.

Yeah, as above: a lot of people fail the downgrade of redNAND to 2.1 when they haven't updated it first.

It says
Work Directory: (null)
Emunand: SD is ready
Sd storage: unknown filesystem

Probably my sd is corrupt somehow because when I go into rednand setup it says file system is corrupt or unknown

:grog: Got it. so if the EmuNand is not half-assed, it is ok not to update the EmuNand.
:!:As a totally noob, my friend failed to check the system identifier(ver or sys or emu),and updated his sysnand, and wasted ¥100($15) for a hardmod.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
