It is supported, and GW does not have higher emunand than other CFWs that are updated.
I like how people try and blame gateway for this. If you buy their products instead of cheap rip offs that completely copy all their code you wouldnt have a problem. Plus they have done this in the past so you are stupid for not thinking they wouldnt do it again.
Last time I checked its only partially supported on N3DS. And yes, I know, but Gateway will most likely be the team to crack N3DS 9.6+ encryption, so gateway users will probably be the first to enjoy 9.6+ emunand.

It's not Supercard it's the user who copies the code here because they told them to do so. Other than that all Supercard provides is their shitty simulator which was probably piss easy to detect.
I honestly believe that the saying should not be "Gateway is obsolete, get CFW." It's up to the user, and looking at this from a different standpoint I believe it should be weighed by if you're down for spending money or not. If you don't have money to throw then don't throw it. Get a CFW. If you want to support the other side of the spectrum and have money to throw, get Gateway. If you already have Gateway, don't throw it out. It's still useful. And you could even dualboot CFW alongside it.
In short, Gateway and CFW are very similar. If you have money and want to use it, get Gateway and Dualboot CFW. If you have money and want to save, get CFW. If you're broke as hell, just get CFW.

No but if somebody claims they have a hardmodded system that they u bricked and they were just using a supercard for testing to see if it bricks, it's not really outrageous that I would ask to see it replicated "for science" as both myself and OP are clearly interested in understanding the phenomena or why would OP claim they were just testing it? Like this thread has turned into a circle jerk. Every other post is just some gateway fanboy calling supercard users stupid etc. And saying I told you so, like it's a proven fact because some stranger on the Internet said so. I need more than that. I'm not saying that it's true or false. I don't know. But so far I haven't seen anything close to definitive either way. What is definitive is that a lot of people that have gateway cards seem to be all gung-ho master race about it. Like their feelings are hurt because there is another Flashcart on the market. It's weird. Nobody is calling anyones mom a ho, or their wives ugly. It's not personal it's just another less than ethical piracy device on the market.
My interest in this thread is that I own a DStwo+ and so far I have had minimal issues. I would like to keep it that way. That's why I am asking questions. Primarily, so I can try to avoid doing whatever the person who broke their console did, and second to maybe try to figure out the mechanism behind the issue. But so far no one has really gave any information about it at all in this thread except for one post where the guy says he had a Gateway Card in it when it bricked. So far I haven't seen any information of any value here. I want to follow this thread, for the reasons I have stated. But most of the posts are just about how we should all buy Gateway.
Regardless of the lack of evidence I would still stay cautious and probably avoid using the DSTwo+ until there is further evidence. My advice would be to use CFW to play CIAs until DSTwo+ if confirmed to be safe, which to be honest, I doubt it is, as this has happened in the past and I dont think Gateway has any intention of stopping.
well best avice would be to just go back to the 1.03 plugin and 3.4.1 launcher.dat until things are confirmed/debunked....or yeah just use cfw for now if you want to be extra safe

How will anyone be able to ever confirm that it's safe if nobody discloses what they were doing when it bricked? If all they were doing were normal everyday things that the card was meant to do, I am even willing to try it on mine. There's no way that these rumours are going to go away unless we can get some details about it and try to replicate it. I have had mine since it came out and Im gonna keep using it. If I do ever have an issue I will report it here with details on how to replicate it. Exactly what these people making the claim should be doing.
I have a 2 9.9 3DSes that I got for free. Once a new kernal hack comes out, or when I decide to bite the bullet and get a 9.2 3DS, I'm not touching a flash cart with a 20 foot stick. I don't get why anyone would buy a flash cart, when you can get CFW for free. Sky3DS I kinda understand, works on any firmware, but if your 3DS can run Gateway, it can have free CFW.
well see the thing is gateway made the brick code somewhat randomized, for the first few weeks with the gen1 clones there was all kinds of "guesses"/"conclusions" varying from its if you play mario kart, to its only if you exit without playing a game, unless a dev decides to decompile the gateway launcher we wont ever get a 100% guaranteed cause without someone playing sacrificial lamb again
truth is, people know what to expect this time around so i doubt there is even half as many people jumping on the latest FW as there was back with the R4 gold deluxe/3DSlink etc so the numbers will obviously be much lower

The damage is already done. Gateway doesn't need to brick any consoles. They just had to throw a bit of innuendo into the mix, and all these ppl will do the dirty work for them. How is bricking anyone's console going to benefit gateway? The rumour of them doing it is way more effective than actually doing it. I know in the past they tried did it, We all know that. But there was a metric ton of backlash surrounding it and I don't know if it would be worth it to do it all again. If they have the capacity to brick a whole console, they more than likely would have the ability to just destroy the clone card or render it useless. Which I think is a reasonably good possibility.
Do you know who the Dev were that tried to reverse the gateway launcher in the past were? Do you know if they made any of their findings public?
It's probably an idea from the chinese kingpins behind it. The engineers only implemented the brick code.
That may very well be true. The fact is that if they brick your console you're not going to have a console to buy a Gateway Card and use it on. And another effect it would have is that a good chunk of the people who do replace their consoles are not going to want to use flashcarts from gateway or anyone else on it. Let's be honest, a good chunk of the people using this stuff are younger and don't have jobs. It's their parents that will be replacing the consoles and you can bet they won't be buying them a second flashcard from anybody to use on their new console. It's a bad business model. Almost as bad a business model as the one that Supercard is going with, lol.
