Can you update the FBI in the injection? I heard the latest FBI can overwrite, which means installing Browser, MSET CIA would be safer and easier than older version which we have to look to delete the older version first.
The injector already supports it, the problem is that no one has made an updated fileset, and I can't find any documentation on how the original ones were built.
Bring me the data, and I'll bring you the packs.

@Steveice10 Can you update the injection packs? Or were you even the one who packed them to begin with?

What firmware you are on again? There is some case FBI injection doesn't work with 4.x

I updated the FBI injector to include an option to just read the TMD. Enjoy.

Use with b8, not releasing another beta pack this soon, with this few improvements.

someone should help @Crusard correct the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors present in his previous English theme.
If you check the Github page, you'll find that most of them are commented on for correction. When the new theme comes out, I'm sure it'll have all the corrections added.

I did not make the injection packs, nor have I ever looked at them and seen how they work.
Scanned the hell out of the repo, and looks like the original implementations were mostly by @DarkMatterCore
"TMDs are generated by the CIA NAND Inject Generator created by RikuKH"
Alright, that's useful.

I already did my self-appointed job for the day. If one of you guys wants to figure this out, have a blast.

Ok, I'm at a point where I have rxTools installed and runnable from ninjhax, emuNAND in place on my SD card (test shows RX3D under Settings), with backups of my card and sysNAND prior to that formatting from the Gateway launcher, and FBI injected into the H&S app (in emuNAND). Is there anything else I need to know before I go about installing CIAs? I'm a total noob when it comes to this level of 3DS stuff, as I've only messed with ninjhax, homebrew, and spoofing to let me onto the eShop from 9.2.

Here comes the flood....

Been reading up on a few things, and they say that emuNAND and sysNAND may be linked? What does it mean by that, how would I know if they are linked, and would that affect how CIAs are installed? Should I not do something after I install a CIA? Various threads say CIAs can be legit or universal (the latter being from pre-installed software instead of downloaded), but a legit can possibly be bannable from online because of a header conflict from 2 or more systems connected at the same time, as downloads and retail cards have their own unique signature? I can use a header from one of my own cards, and use that for all CIAs I'd install to prevent that, right? How would I go about doing that?

Also, I can move my SD card backup back onto my card after getting emuNAND set up? Would my backup conflict with anything? Since emuNAND is a copy of my sysNAND, it would recognize my purchases? What about CIAs I install (when in emuNAND)? Will they be shown in both locations (supposedly because of this linking)? I honestly would like to be able to have my legit purchases be detected only under sysNAND, while CIAs I install be detected only with emuNAND, just to keep them separate. Is that possible? I'm thinking such a thing may require that I have 2 SD cards for true separation. I can probably install custom themes to emuNAND at this point, making one more identifier to myself of which of the two I'm currently running.

Questions questions questions, some of which may be dumb/stupid, but I don't care, because I want to understand......

Too many questions LOL. Will try my best to answer some:

EmuNAND and SYSNAND linked = they are linked really! For example: install CIA on sysnand, it will also show in emunand mode and vice-versa. I don't have much experience, but as I know, they share the same user, eshop, game save data (Need confirm from experienced members on this). Don't go in data management on sysnand when your 2 NAND' linked or you get your CIAs on emunand deleted.

CIA is safe to go online. CIA has its header removed. No need to inject your private header.

If you want to separate legit CIA and third party CIA onto SysNand and EmuNand, then I think "unlinking" is the solution. To unlink: On SysNand, go to system settings -> Other settings -> Format System Memory -> Yes till you see something similar to this " This process will delete ALL data permanently. Are you sure you want to format?" with "Format" button with colored background-> eject the SD card -> format. Don't format sysnand if yours is 2DS with downgraded MSET 4.x or N3DS with any downgraded MSET version. Format 2DS sysNand will be fine with downgraded MSET 6.x.

My answers are simple. If you want more deeply technical answers, sit tight until tomorrow.

CIAs don't use headers. Legit CIAs are just the ones from bundle consoles. (Pokemon X/Y for example). I've never heard the term "universal" but it sounds like the same thing as a legit CIA.
Install the updated FBI using the H&S FBI. There are many improvements over the older version that the injector installs. You can find it in the FBI thread's first post.

I was going to get into a big post explaining linked vs unlinked NANDs but I'm hella tired so someone else can answer that.

Hmm. Is there any benefit (or at least upside vs downside) to having them unlinked over leaving them linked?
I prefer them linked since games share saves across NAND's the only only "downside" is having to unwrap all the CIA's you have installed on Sysnand if you enter Emunand.

Use FBI to install them on sysNAND too. This would fix the wrap bug. However, this would also add the non legitimate tickets to sysNAND so not everyone would want this.

ive never found unwrapping CIA's a bother especially since I almost never enter Emunand now that firmlaunch is a thing.
