And that just...I hope that issue isn't permanent. It wouldn't affect it on the Wii would it?

We don't know. As of wii, well it uses the same code, so yeah that would be the same. Like Drak0rex said we should test all possible combo to see if a pattern could be found with USB issues.

Well for reference mine is a 3TB WD My Book split into two partitions, a 150 GB FAT32 one where all my games are and the rest on NTFS for computer backup and storage purposes.

I'm personally seeing a pattern with the WD My Book/Passport series. Anyone else noticing this?

I do remember that someone fixed an issue with USB Loader GX by doing a firmware update on their WD USB drive. Try that maybe?

Edit: Seagate also seems to be a commonly offending USB drive

i know nintendont sometimes had issues with splitted drives but yeah your hdd not working is probably becuase its a huge drive and from all the reports most hdds that dont works are 2tb and over.

if your hdd works on a wii it works on a wiiu... its the same exact code being runned.

And for ppl hopping for the usb code to be reversed that will never happen now nintendont is actualy using the usb drive as it should so your not stuck to a specifiq usb door and until any of the devs has one of those to test no progress will be made anyone that wants progress on that should think on making a donation of one of those drives to an active dev.

Just to be sure, i am still missing the rest of what pedro702 said...

Did you.... while MCEMU was turned OFF ... connect the microphone to mem slot B AFTER the game has started?
Yeah. It's the strangest thing, it's like plugging the microphone in creates a block in the pipeline. The Wii will stop loading from the HDD, for example the music will stop. After a bit of time the screen will go black and display a message like "an error has occurred, please consult your system manual" which I assume is what occurs when the GameCube is unable to read a disc. Unplugging the mic before this crash causes the music to promptly resume and the game plays normally.

To be more specific, 2TB hdd's work but only the ones with 512 byte physical sector size. The 4K ones do not at the moment, the same goes for larger then 2TB, but those only come with 4K sectors.

PS: i am one of the lucky ones that got a 2TB hdd with 512 sectors
PS2: thats why people are referring to rev. 2.29, that is the last one that actually was able to use 4K hdd's

Alright everybody, the results are IN, and.....229 makes my hard drive work! I can finally play GC games on my Wii U with GC controllers! It does suck that they broke the code for my drive in more recent updates, but I'm sure they'll fix it eventually. In the meantime, I'm going to get to work transferring all of my saves to virtual memory. Might take a while lol. Thanks to everybody in this thread who helped me!

For those who have the Mayflash version of the 4-port Gamecube controller adapter HERE, I have some questions:

1) How well does it work with Nintendon-t?

2) Does it work similar to the single GC controller adapter that hooks to a wiimote HERE? -- By similar I mean, do you have random button config changes midway through a game for no reason? Does pressing Start once actually pause/start the game? Or do you have to hit it twice?

3) Should I wait for the official Nintendo adapter?

Thanks, in advance!

It is literally a clone (does the same thing hardware/software wise) of the actual GameCube adapter in Wii U mode. In PC mode its a bit different and doesnt work with Nintendont, but when using the right controller.ini in Wii U mode it works like a charm

False. I have a WD 2TB drive and Seagate 1TB drive that both have 4K physical sectors, although Windows and Nintendont both state that they have 512 byte sectors. Neither of these drives work with DIOS MIOS because of the 4K size, so I do not believe that 4K sector size is the issue with Nintendont.

Not really false, you very likely have drives that can emulate 512 byte sectors that is why it shows up 512 byte sectors in your OS, but most if not all drives larger than 2 TB don't have that emulation option anymore.

I wasn't aware they stopped supporting 512byte emulation on 4k physical, kinda dumb. Thought you were only referring to the very rare 512 byte physical sector size 2TB drives. BTW, I bought my 2TB drive very recently.

as someone said earlier, the only way this is probably gonna get fixed is if someone donates their drive to one of the developers, even then its not a guarantee. It is possible that the new IOS nintendont started using on v230 does not support 4k physical sector drives period. If thats the case we should get started on creating an official list of all offending drives that we can find.

The adapter that plugs in the bottom of the Wii remote is not switching button configs randomly. Your pressing minus on it which rotates the button config

So what do we do, be forever stuck on an outdated version while newer versions have better compatibility, more features and get screwed over? I doubt my HDD works anyways, I'll just play it on the Wii if the USB code seriously jacked up HDD support. I take it the Wii U will never work with Nintendont or my HDD....damn that sucks.
First off I still don't quite understand why u won't just try your HDD to see if it works or not before complaining about how it "might" not work lol. Secondly the changes in 2.230 added tons of compatibility and proper use of IOS58 and access to all 4 USB ports to be used in Nintendont, some users unfortunately lost the ability to use their drives, others gained the ability to use their drives. Why not try your drive and see what category u fall into. Why keep being so negative stating yours won't work, I am now literally even more curious than u it seems to find out if your drive is compatible or not lol. Could u just break this cycle of anxiety and please for the love of God try your HDD with Nintendont latest version already!?

Just a quickie not sure if this is the place for error reporting. Serious Sam TNE the rumble is inconsistent. I find turning it off and then on again seems to work but as soon as you change a level it stops again. I'm using the latest version and a PAL .iso on a PAL machine.
Keep up the good work!
