Didnt work. I started wondering dead or alive header might be the problem. Anyone tried patching mk7 rev1 and got it working?

I've got the latest MK 7 working, is that what your asking?

I just modified the header of my Bravely default rom to use the ID of one of my other games, and now my save file is not recognized! Is there a way to use a save from a scene dump on a header-edited game? Sorry If I missed it, I tried looking around.

Edit: Wow. Immidiately after posting this, I went to page 27 and found this exact question.

Well, Looks like I can't. Hopefully there will be a way to do so in the future!

No, there is no way at the moment, none of the original .sav save files with .3ds roms work with .3dz roms, GW are working on it.

I don't think it's the reversion of the game/software, as the ChipID is related to the physical information of the cartridge (Chipset manufacturer, Chipset size, Chipset Save type)

Bug_checker said it's related the to game's size.

Though, ROMs with the same size are using 00 and 02, and are not using a different byte in 0x1241

Senran Kagura Burst (16Gb / 2048MB)
Kirin release: 45 F8 00 90

Senran Kagura Burst v0.1 (16Gb/ 2048MB)
BBB release: C2 F8 02 90
that kinda lead's it to look like its something other than game size still then although i since checed out the ChipID on mario kart rev 1.1 and that says its was C2 FA 00 90 according to the bbb nfo, so it doesnt look like its related to the revision either.....doesnt seem to be 02 on many games would be kinda cool to know what it means :P

Rom patcher v0.5 out. http://tinyurl.com/GRPv0-5.
feel free to use the cart id up there, it's coming from a public rom so... use it at your own risks.
there is now an auto fix for the chip id, if the imported .bin doesn't match your game specs

JEDEC standards are quite clear. 1st byte is Manufacturer ID (must be requested and then set by JEDEC). IIRC, Only 126 possible IDs available because you are using only 1 byte ( with 0x7F as a special case to indicate a different format(extended) for Manufacturer IDs greater than 126). BUT, the manufacture can assign the next 2 bytes ( Device ID data) pretty much anyway the manufacturer desires and most assigns it consistently through out that specific company's inventory. I would assume Nintendo could have requested all their chip suppliers use the same format. It just doesn't appear that they did that.

Line 1200 in hex.

No, not necessarily. You can use public headers to make your roms work online. HOWEVER, every header contains a unique ID, which MAY or MAY NOT be tracked by nintendo (which may or may not be used to ban you from online at a later date)

The purpose of using a retail dump of your own is so you can get a unique ID of your own. So others won't go online with it at the same time as you. Thus maybe hopefully avoid a possible future ban.
Wow.... that honestly sounds really risky. Theres a strong chance that we could get banned. Do you suggest I do this entire online thing with gateway? What is the general suggestion?

I CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOUR CONSOLE/GAME CARD IS BANNED FROM ONLINE. USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

SAVES FROM SCENE GAMES DON'T SEEM TO WORK. MAKE SURE TO MAKE BACKUPS OR THEY MAY BE LOST!

REQUIREMENTS:
A header linked below
OR
A valid gateway dump of a game.
A valid header from said gateway dump. Use info from THIS post from aliak11 to edit your header to match your rom.

ROM Cleaner found here: http://tinyurl.com/Rom-Cleaner-0-2
Scene dump of your game of choice

HOW TO:
Make your ROM dump using GW 2.1/2.2 and copy it to your desktop
Download/extract ROM Cleaner
Modify your header to match your ROM info. Use info from THIS post from aliak11 to edit your header to match your rom.
Open your ROM Cleaner and click the "export" button, follow the steps to extract the header info from your GW dump
Open your scene dump and click "import", follow the instructions to import the header info to your scene dump.
Change the extension of your newly modified scene dump to .3DZ
Copy to micro-sd
Play online :D

Notes:
I've only tested this with the header from LoZ: ALBW on a MK7 ROM, this could be different for different games. Haven't had time to test.

Please post results in this thread!

Whether you get banned or not is pure speculation at this point. Nobody knows what ninty will do. So nobody can really guarantee it's safe to use. It's really up to yourself to decide.

If you just looked at the previous 2-3 pages I'm pretty sure SOMEONE had posted a detailed step by step guide. I suggest you follow those steps until you don't know what to do. Then ask for help. Seriously, at least show some semblance of effort.

Where in the Rom is the Title ID at?
0x109 in little endian, it's only 3 bytes long as the rest of the title id is the same for all CTR cards ( see here for a more in depth explanation)

basically it's:
00040000XXXXXX00

Edit: Apparently I was a few pages behind the thread, I see you already figured it out :P

Edit 2: I thought Chip Ids were only 4 bytes long, whats the purpose of the other 12 bytes in your editor?

Thank you for the info anyways. I forgot to remove the extra bytes from that version, it is fixed in v0.5.

hey guys, i used my loz albw header on acnl , edited the cart info correctly, now when i start the game, i get save data corruption from my old save, the game will attempt to reformat it and create a new one, but it basically sticks on that screen. Any way to manually clear that? I cant find the old save on the sd card.

Anyone know how to delete the animal crossing save data?

Anyone know how to delete the animal crossing save data?
save data for card 2 games (Animal crossing is one of them) is stocked and the end of the rom directly.
if you know how to use an hexadecimal editor, open your animal crossing rom with the editor and search for data written after all the rom partitions. Fill them with "FF" and you're done.
If you never use hexa edits, just trim your rom, and then untrim it. The save data will be wipped and ROM refilled with padding by doing so.

edit : not sure about this solution, but there is maybe a combo key that you have to press at game's launch to force it to erase your save. I know many Nintendo games can do this. dunno if it works with backups.

Currently yeah. Maybe one day some cartridge IDs will be banned, but for now yeah it works fine.
Even no need for hexa edit now, get the last version of Gateway Rom patcher http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-use-scene-dumps-with-gw-2-2-online.365829/page-33#post-4996865, import a gateway header in your rom, and it will be automatically adapted to your rom to give it online compatibility.
