Hey guys, now that this generation is coming to an end I wanna get my PS3 Slim all set up to run games off the hard drive. I did this already on my Phat but that had 3.55 and it was easy to get running. But my phat is loud and hard locks a lot.

Wanna mod my PS3 Slim to replace it, I know since I kept the OS up to day Ill need a flasher. I dont see a ton of info out there on how to use one and if its safe. Is there a good guide on using one?

Also saw this "PS3 Cobra ODE" in another thread here, is that a legit item? that sounds like a good way to go as well.

Also once hacked or whatever how easy is it to rip my own games? Would want to rip my games to the harddrive for ease of use and longevity since the disc drives go the fastest.

Thanks guys

well I can't help you with downgrading

the cobra ode is a device that goes between the mobo and the bd drive, it emulates a bd drive so you can load games via a usb hdd.

you can easily rip a game in multiman, pop in a disc go the game section, go to the game and press triangle and go to copy.

I have no idea how you would rip your own games if you use the cobra ode

Cobra isn't out yet. When it is, I will certainly be picking up a refurb PS3 to use it with. Don't want to go through the trouble of CFW, and the fact that you can't play games online with CFW.

If you don't know how to use one, find someone who does online. I paid $50 + $10 shipping to let someone else downgrade my PS3. Unless you plan to downgrade 2 or more PS3 I don't see it is worth it to get a flasher.

Yeah, that shit is seriously expensive, just like with the Xbox.

For the record, though, my slim locks up all the time as well. I don't think it's the device as much as Sony's horrible firmware.

I was asked to leave a casino in Vegas years ago, because somebody asked me for change for $20 and I made change for them. The casino claimed it was against they're rules and I had to leave. I feel Karma got them back cause the casino was torn down couple years ago.
