Hacking 3DS Current Firmware Update Information [5.1.0-11]

Exactly, the point of the update was to block vuls in the 3DS, as well as adding some little stuff to cover it up to seem like a regular update.
the 5.1.0-11 was just a bug fix, well said.

5.0.0-11 did indeed block cards tho
and without all card confirmations it may have still blocked some smaller ones that may have slipped though the net
so you cannot definitely say that no cards where blocked

Yeah I agree, I mean if they are fixing exploits, they may have changed certain things the card firmware uses to trick smaller cards, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Is it confirmed that some carts that were blocked on 5.x had worked on 4.5.x to begin with? I remember you all asking people if they were already blocked ahead of time and the answers being along the lines of "lolidunno I just updated from 3.0 to 5.x." or something.

I've had some uncomfirmed reports of peoples carts not working but nothing consistant.
I gues they might have blocked some carts but who would know.

none that i confirmed, some users where saying 5.0.0-11 & 5.1.0-11 didnt block any cards, but they have indeed blocked some of the less popular cards

Currently, only 1 game can be exploited, but this one game makes 66 other more vulnerable and may possibly enable the other 66 games to be exploited as well.

pretty sure it came to light on 3DS brew that all the other 66 games could use the exploit, more than likely the thread is not up to date
it may have taken a while to figure out what he was doing, exploits arnt a 1.2.3 fix they take time

i was responding to other people in the same post but didn't quote them in, yours was just 1 of the posts

no its not that the vulnerability was fixed, its still very much there, because they cant update the rom images on the carts
what the exploit did (executed custom code stored elsewhere from the save file) was stopped from happening by making the firmware block this sort of thing from happening

Multiple NATIVE_FIRM code execution vulnerabilities were fixed, this includes all known NATIVE_FIRM code execution vulns at the time when the update was released. The system does not delete/block 3DS savegame haxx at all with this update, however the code execution haxx used by this was fixed.

long or corrupted strings (01Ah 2 Nickname length in characters 050h 2 Message length in characters)

wasn't blocked, but what that could do to the system was, so it can no long execute code

According to both you and Tecmanpr that card got blocked, So yes you may have to get another card.

I can thankfully report that my DStwo still works fine.

I can also report that the Action Replay DSi (at least on the currently available 3DS-compatible firmware, which has it mimic Game & Watch Collection ) still works as intended, as well.

i buy 2 days ago this R4i revolution advance v1.6 WiFi red color card
i download the kernel to the site writed on the pacage www.r4i-advance.com, i unzip in the root of the micro sd (formatted in fat32) and after the game New Super Mario Bros (E).nds in the root of the micro sd.
i start the nintendo 3ds select the game but when i start it it's blocked during the loading game.....
who know the problem? where i doing wrong?
i tried to insert ttmenu and YS but noithing what and where can i find help?

Today the page www.R4ISDHC.COM change their information about the new update 5.1.0.11 claiming that the latest 2013 R4cards suport this firmware. I downloaded the latest file again to verify that the information is tue but my card that is a R4isdhc White Dual Core doesnt work, also i try diferent sd cards and the card still dead. It was working before I updated my 3DS XL to the latest firmware.
