Yes it may lead to nothing, but you never know, it could lead to us obtaining the source code.

I'd love it if this happened.
It would be great seeing an updated version of Supercard or Acekard firmware to allow access to dsi/3ds hardware.
Heck with this it may be possible to for a fully capable dsi cart to come to fruition, pushing both the ds scene and an overall better understanding of the 3ds as well.

Good idea but don't forget to ask them for EDGE and iEDGE sourcecode as it was their products.

This would be amazing, if they could at least release the code for the OS (like acekard actually does)

Also, being able to make DSi/3DS updates for the iEDGE/IEVO would be cherry on the cake, but I don't think that will happen, as no team so far has ever released any tool to bypass 3DS/Dsi updates yet (and it may be dangerous, for the future of the flashcart scene, if every single exploits get patched, I personally don't think it's possible, but I wouldn't underestimate the power of nintendo R&D team)..

Yeah if they release the bootstrap source code they shouldn't make it public, just releasing it to some developpers.

Exactly, The boot strap part should be released only to some trustable persons with huge knowledge on this domain.(guys like normatt for example)

Well, a DSi enhanced card is always useful after all. And it's not like there's a iEVO R4DS, Revolution Dual iEVO, R4iEVO 3DS. Even if the exploit used comes from someone else to access dsi, it's unique so yeah, the more mails sent, the better.

This is the time for us, to unite to a common goal.
We may not agree with each other, or preffer another card for iEvo,
but truth being told,
this flashcard is unique, DSi mode could benefit tons of homebrew and emulator developers,
it could even benefit another flashcards turning them compatible with DSi mode.
It costs few time to send them a e-mail, it won't harm anyone,
and if we succeed, this will benefit us all

When I read the title, I was like "lolwut the source code was released??"

But there's no reason for TC to release a source code. They used WinterMute's exploit for DSi mode, which is already open source'd.

You can't be certain of that until you see the source for yourself. All I know is that the exploit involves the WiFi chip somehow, or at least so I've read.

It IS certain that they used that exploit. It's the same game, and the iEvo menu takes over at the exact same point WinterMute's exploit kicked in. As for the "involvement" of the WiFi chip; I dunno. I know that a later version of WinterMute's exploit wrote some code to the WiFi chip via a DS mode flash card, then loaded it via the DSi mode exploit, allowing you to load larger amounts of code than were possible via embedding in the save file (the code written to the WiFi chip was something akin to wiiload, and once run it meant the DSi would listen for code coming over WiFi, and then execute it when it received some). I also believe that the WiFi chip does not work under the iEvo, because of the exploit. But I don't think the WiFi chip is actually involved in the exploit.

Anyway, the source is not just for seeing the exploit used to achieve DSi mode, it is so people can look at the kernel and perhaps update it for newer games etc. (This part is aimed at CollosalPokemon, not you Foxi4 )

Regardless of all this, the links from the OP to the Cyclo forums seem to be down to me. Never mind, working again now.

Well back in December I offered to pay for the source code for The Cyclo, iEVO and iEdge and was told by both sites that its not for sale and that they will update the cards when a new product hits the market.

They are tied to Divineo (Max Louarn, aka MAXiMiLiEN). Quite a few products are being released by them though. Like the True Blue (IMO), so they are still doing there thing...they just don't support the iEvo's broken design. The iEvo definitely wasn't thought out, and they (Max Louarn) wanted to make a lot of money, and of course, a card that does what others can not would draw in that said money. THE MONEY HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE AND THEY AREN'T GOING TO GET EXTRA FOR RELEASES, SO FUCK YOU (This is their attitude).
