Xbox 360 price cut. RANT-ish alert.

360sale.jpg

Remember when the Wii's pricing was announced? We were in awe at the $250 price tag. WOW! thas so zetta cheap, impluse buy time!!!

Now, two year later, rumors of the Xbox 360 Uber price cut are out in the wild, with scans from Radio Shack and now Kmart.

If the Xbox 360 gets as cheap as the Wii, the only selling points for the Wii now are Motion controls and casual games.... Wait what? FAIL, nintendo didn't even drop the price of the Wii yet, and in winnipeg it is actually getting HIGHER (Yes, Nintendo is getting tons of money, I guess, and demands for the Wii are very high.)

Now then, I cannot recommend a Wii to my relatives, friend, others due to the superiority of the Xbox 360. Xbxox 360 just has better games, better (but more expensive) online, and better controls for most games, about 80% of Wii games feel like a waggle fest, not requiring much precision. Some games require too much precision, and fail, because no one can hold the Wii mote completely stable (Okami, Trauma Center) Only few games are very good.

Currently, I can only think of Folklore as another RPG. But the PS3 has some nice ones coming out soon, and that is the reason why I gave it better for RPG's.

Hmm, well, that is a fair list. So I guess it does have more (soon)

JRPG's seem to get less generic all the time, so I hope they advance, but then, the "NEW" type JRPG will become generic.

Really? I heard it was pretty good, and the reviews range from average to good about half and half. But that list of RPG's for PS3 seems to be outdated as some aren't exclusives, and some have been moved to 360(although not confirmed to be 360 exclusive). And also, dinofan01, can you to explain what a generic JRPG is now...?(also a random statement seeing as how not all of them are even JRPG's)

Generic JRPG. : A japanese Role-playing game with a Teenager (Preferably 15-18) as the main character. The Teenager must learn to accept others by going on a epic quest to save the world. On the way, he may meet a Female. This female will help teach him how to accept people. He will start to make friends and maybe put less gel in his hair. Later, he learns that the ENTIRE world is centered around him. He must find the End Boss. The End Boss must be a bad ass. He goes to defeat the end boss, only to find that people are in his way. The people carry gold, so he kills them all to buy goods. Later he finds the end boss, goes into a long speech, and makes the end boss vanish into thin air, never to be seen again. Peace is restored, and his girl, (if alive) loves him. The end

There's a reason why I asked dinofan01, because more than half of the games on that list don't fit that definition, or some aren't even from Japan...

I know what a JRPG is by the way...don't really see why you took your time to explain it. And actually, I don't agree with your definition because I can't believe there is something called a generic JRPG...how many RPG's are actually like that? Most Final Fantasy's do not fit that description...but just goes to show you that some people have different taste in games and put a label on games they don't like.

Back on topic, This could be the push I need to get a 360. I love the wii to death but sometimes you just want to play with a traditional controller.

Umm, where did this list come from? It's it possibly 6 years old? Without looking it up, I can pick out a few quick errors.

1. Two Worlds (NOT Exclusive)... it's already out for PC and Xbox 360.
2. Star Ocean 4 (Exclusive... for Xbox 360) Yes, that's right.
3. FFXIII (NOT Exclusive)... wasn't there a huge uproar about this already?
4. The Last Remnant (TIMED Exclusive... for the Xbox 360.) PC and PS3 versions to follow at a later date.

On top of those, there are a bunch of multi-platforms listed...

I know it's hard to believe given the RPG ratio between PS2:Xbox Original.

Meh, you people and your RPG's.

RPG is the most boring genre there is. If it wasn't for the story I wouldn't have finished one.
Most of the time you will just get pissed off from boring random battles, endless level grinding, 40 hours of boring gameplay and 5 hours of fun, pressing the action button all the time for those items, slow developing story line and 80% of the text is BS.

The only good RPG I ever played is Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.
No random battles, no over dramatic story, can be finished in less than 20 hours and best off all every attacks can be dodged. This feels more like a game and less like a bad anime.
Its just how a RPG is suppose to be.

Who has the time to torture himself 50 hours straight.

On topic: The Wii is a great console but I think the 360 has better and more games.
But because of the “red ring of death” I wont buy one.

And why does nobody recognize the pure brilliantness called Super Paper Mario?

they sell the 360 supersize pack here now :)

xbox_360_supersize_pack2.jpg

€300,- (some places even €275) it is the new 60 gb version

Im realy thinking about getting one but alot of people around me have ps3 and.... WII XD sooooooo that sucks arrgggg (and RROD...)

edit: oh and the normal WII sports pack goes for €230,- here

I think the reason the Wii sells so well is that people hear about the Wiimote and imagine all kinds of great games that would use it. Sadly, Ninty makes next to no games that WE imagine WiiMote uses for.

The X-Box has to lower their prices because too many people already know about the RROD issue, but they still want all the awesome games that are on that system. The price drop is the icing on the cake for peeps on the edge of buying one.

Geh, I just realized how outdated my list is, and yeah, it's from February. It was late at night, and I was too lazy to update it. I am surprised though, never knew the 360 had so many RPG's.

Ken, your hamster inside it is hungry. Can't you turn POE on/off in your WiFi settings page? Or is it not staying on?
    +1
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
@BigOnYa, Well, in that thread they say it's pretty much safe to manage save files back and forth to consoles as long as you don't go online with cheats activated or with a pirate game.
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
I own every of my games legit with their own cartridges
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
also, I'm not planning to use any cheats, etc, just continue the normal gameplay on the emulator
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It only gives a internet settings option then it spazes out
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@ATEMVEGETA if you use save from other switch you may be ok, but using a save from emulator to switch will prob get you banned
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Under ipv4/6
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
The save file will be created and started normally on the Switch's OFW with a legit game. Then that save file will be transfered to the emulator and continue the gameplay there. Then send it back to the console.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I feel like I need to touch @Sicklyboy rack to make it work at this point
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
The save file(s) would never be created first in an emulator
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
Do you think continuing the story on the emulator would flag the save file as illegal? (Again no cheats, etc will take place, only normal story of the game progress)
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But still using the save on a emulator, then back to switch is shady
    +2
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
Yea, that's the only thing I want to clarify actually. If someone has tried it with no problems.
    +1
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
If using the save on the emulator flags the save file. :/
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
Again, "using" I mean normal gameplay not modify it with other means like pokehex, etc
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
@BigOnYa, Can you help me clarify this thing somehow? Do you know someone that may know or have tried it?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Just play it on the emulation at home and portable use the normal save, I wouldn't risk anything if online is important to you
