Today was a good day

I spent the day with the missus celebrating our 11th anniversary by doing absolutely nothing at all, which was a welcome change from constantly being busy. Instead of working from early morning till late at night, we just sat on the couch, enjoyed each other's company and gorged on fast food without a care in the world. This was almost preferable to the usual song and dance, and the stress people associate with anniversaries. Most people try to recapture a magic moment from the past instead of realising that there's a magic moment happening right now, and they're running past it. Of course the current lockdowns sort of restricted our options in terms of celebrations, but all things considered... I can't complain! I'm feeling relaxed and reenergised.

Cheers buddy, and no worries - I'm sure things will fall into place eventually on your end. Focus on what's ahead rather than what's behind you, you can't change the latter, but you can shape the former as you please. :D

That's awfully true! Will try to focus on the future, even though some other options are rather tempting.

It's been a pretty rough, stressful time as of late, we all deserve a bit of a break, I think. There's always stuff to look forward to, in your case, Alan Wake making a glamorous return! :yayps3:

Two months...if I can manage to make it through my current cog-in-the-machine-of-a-job that I'm currently in for the next two months, I'll be the most financially free that I've been in a year and a half, based on calculations done of me working OT, be it forced or voluntary, at the job.

Then, I can finally focus on saving up enough money through the winter to where I could move out when the snow stops falling and everything is getting warm and stable again so I can have enough for the down payments and to get myself on my own two feet, and finally, for the first time in my life, be as normal as a sheltered guy with Asperger's can be when he has some social skills and dating experience that really only is effective in a small bubble that's getting smaller and smaller as time goes on.

What you described in celebrating your anniversary today is actually kind of what I sort of have been wanting to do, but with friends and people I can hopefully invite over in the next year when things hopefully go back to normal when I have my own place...
