Btw... Edge! Another chromium based browser. Welcome to the era of closed internet. This guy was refused the widevine DRM license from Google without a proper reason.
I know chromium is open-source, but nobody is compiling it and it only exists because Google funds it. The problem is they also try to kill the internet with DRM and bad standards.

I didn't read all the links, so I might not know what I'm talking about. I have installed just about every mainstream version of linux on more devices than I can remember. Easily over 70 or 80 devices. While there or linux distros that try to look just like windows so that it's easier for people who are new to Linux. They would prolly come with edge. And if you haven't tried edge yet you should check it out. It's a great browser. But my long winded point is that I'm sure that ubuntu based linux distro does not come with edge. I would be willing to bet that it doesn't even have the PPA's for edge. You would have to install the PPA using terminal.

@Henx Yeah, that's very disappointing of the Raspberry Pi foundation. At least, it doesn't appear, from the 10-15 seconds of browsing r/Retropie's front page that it is affected, let alone implementations of it on other SBCs like the ODroid-XU4. And people have suggested switching to other OSes like Debian in the big discussion thread I saw on Reddit earlier today.

I don't like that, worldwide, it's like corporations, governments, and other organizations are like an octopus, slithering its tentacles into everything it can get its hands on, and trying to force its way into every aspect of our technological life.

Back in 1999, Microsoft was still very evil. I needed an email service that wasn't hotmail, because I didn't want Microsoft all "up in my shit". So I went with Yahoo! Mail instead. Fast forward to 2012, where Microsoft almost bought Yahoo! Inc. If that deal would have gone through, I would have lost my shit. I'm tired of Microsoft over-reaching and snatching up everything I love, and shitting all over it. (Rareware, Skype, Minecraft, Zenimax Studios/Bethesda, Winternals Software, and Github to name a few.)

So I feel my tinfoil hat is warranted.

I mean, they didn't ruin Minecraft that much(at least the java edition) and they didn't really ruin GitHub either

@Scott_pilgrim They are forcing people to move their Minecraft java accounts to Microsoft accounts, which means that they will take away my legal copy because I will never in my life sign up to a Microsoft account, but it seems like I am the only person on this planet who has an issue with that. I hope that the same thing won't happen to Github.

To be fair, a lot of the good talent Rare had at Nintendo left when Bill Gates came in and snatched the company up.
