There needs to be laws put in place to where people who do shit like this, even on "anonymous" forums like these can sue for damages in slander and the like.

A person makes a completely accurate translation of a game that, in 2020, uses a word that's now considered a micro-aggression? It's his fault for not changing the word as opposed to staying true to the accuracy of the translation.

A certain individual who made a certain emulator for a certain 16-bit system more accurate than the rest that came before it, but is forced into going dark because some piece of hellspawn doxxed him and some other devs, some of whom weren't even big names?

People have poured time, money, blood, sweat, tears, forgone desires that most normal people would crave, and have labored, many with no profit motive, for the past three decades in pursuit of making games playable on devices that wouldn't be able to play those games otherwise without a company's approval of said game's (s' for all of the collections released nowadays) being released on there. These tools have allowed people to easily translate games that, in the case of some, have not seen a release outside of their home country, and may never see an official release.

It's not even just old systems, either; I just saw on r/emulation that, apparently, Netplay is a thing now on RPCS3, FightCade got a big update it'd seem, and you have a dude looking to make NES games widescreen. As in, functional widescreen that actually takes the expanded screen space into account, as far as my understanding goes. Thing is, we wouldn't even be able to do stuff like this without all of the achievements for the past 30 years. And to see that people are shitting all over these people's hard work that has allowed this temper to play so many games that he'd have never been able to play back in the day on a PC just goes to show that some people can't stop, think, and consider how people actually got to where they did. Instead, it's "tear it all down! It's all terrible because all of anything good is *insert -ist/-ism, supporting this thing I don't like or disagree with, or I want to look good on Twatter to my fellow NPC's!"

When in the love of all that's good has destroying things actually improved anything? The burning of the Great Library of Alexandria, destroying literature (religious, political, humorous, it doesn't matter) or any media one dislikes (album burnings from the 60's, anyone?), or destroying historical landmarks that have had a storied history and should be preserved for those looking to explore and learn about the world.

I know, someone else will pick up the torch, a new generation will rise, and everything won't be 100% abandoned, but people don't know, even in 2020, how good they actually do have it compared to any other era in world history.

All I can say is that, if things keep ramping up, if communication keeps breaking down due to real problems that require actual solutions as opposed to people always being at each other's throats because of how society has worked especially since the 60's, and if it reaches a breaking point, I would be truly scared of what's to come, and that's regardless of what political/religious/*insert category here* you are.

People have to agree to disagree, be willing to forgive others for no one is perfect, and actually tolerate one another and not "tolerate" others just because they're useful until they aren't.

sometimes, there are just terrible people out there that want to do nothing more than harass others. it's sadly easier for others to join a bandwagon blindly, than to stand up for a person.

thanks guys/gals. I feel better now after some sleep. what really angered me was that he outed a friend of mine, because I mentioned it in the email. my friend emailed Fig! a while back. Fig! knew he was gay and told him to kill himself. that really made me angry. I told my friend about it, then didn't hear from him for several days. I thought he had done something drastic due to embarrassment. anyway, all of these emails were to Fig!'s girlfriend. I've been trying to get her to leave him, but even when he cheated on her while she was pregnant -- that still wasn't enough for her. she let him see the emails, then he posted them.

have there been any threats directed to you @godreborn it wouldn't matter if the one site is a warez site a threat is a threat and needs to be delt with pronto unless the guy is a genius and uses a vpn 24/7 he can be traced by the cops (depending on where he lives he could still get in huge trouble for threats) I would get law enforcement involved either way your safety is a priority
