Today we will talk about an intriguing serial killer case.He is one of the most mysterious and legendary of all time, the way he killed and left no traces impresses the police to this day.
I'm talking about the Zodiac Killer.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Young couple David Arthur Faraday (17) and Betty Lou Jensen (16) were driving at night on a road popular as a meeting place for young couples.
A man stopped his car behind theirs and then murdered the young couple. Betty even tried to escape and was shot and killed.
The police were able to understand the crime scene but were unable to identify the killer.
The following year, in 1969, another young couple (Michael Renault Mageau and Darlene Elizabeth Ferrin) fell victim to a zodiac attack that was not known at the time. Mageau managed to survive, but unfortunately, Darlene ended up passing away.
The unidentified man reported his own crime and then fled.
THE FIRST LETTER
It was August 1, 1969 when the first letter was sent to the San Francisco Chronicle
The letter said:
Dear Editor, This is the murder of the 2 young men last Christmas at Lake Herman and the girl on the 4th of July near the golf course in Vallejo
To prove that I killed them,
I'm going to tell you some facts that only I and the police know.
Christmas
1. Super X Ammunition Brand
2. 10 shots were fired
3. The young man had his back turned with his feet pointing towards the car
4. The young woman was lying on her right side with her feet facing West
4th of July
1. The young woman was wearing patterned pants
2. The young man was also shot in the knee.
3. Brand of ammunition was western
Here is part of a code the other two parts of this code are being sent to the editors of the Vallejo Times and the SF Examiner. I want you to publish this code on the front page of your newspaper.
In this code is my identity.
If you don't publish this code by Friday afternoon, August 1, 69, I'm going to start a crazy killing spree Friday night. I will roam around all weekend killing lonely people at night and keep killing again until I have a dozen people left for the weekend.
