So as I said in my eariler blogs, I've recently involved myself in a band with my brother and his friend.
So far, we've managed to finish writing 4 songs. There are still many problems though:
1) Oour song structures are never Verse-Chorus-Verse.... in fact, they're usually just one big swoop. It'll be incredibly difficult to memorize everything, but we'll manage.
2) No drummer or singer yet, meaning rehearsals go a bit slow, but we have a fill-in drummer every few practices. Luckily, we've been placing ads out for singers and drummers, and we're appearing to have some successes with at least drummers. It's probably best to get the right drummer first...
3) Last time I tried defining the band in genre, I failed quite miserably. Now that I've used Wikipedia and Last.fm appropriately, you can probably call us an indie/math/post rock band.
4) With these many songs, we're about ready to make an EP, once lyrics can be put together with a singer. Any suggestions for the title of the EP? We've only scratched the surface of naming, and we came up with "The Recollections EP". Though this is hardly a big deal, since we don't even have a band name yet.
With these 4 thoughts out in the air, I can safely try to retain my sanity over the current issues we have. Here's to hoping everything can be perfected and successful!
