So you've just recently enrolled at your uni/school for higher education and are happy about it ?
Great.
Shame though that there are some bills to be paid.
If it were an apprenticeship or regular job, you'd be payed no problem.
Higher education ? Well, aside fonds, stipendias (or official fundings, like f.e. "Bafög" in germany) you'll be left to your own devices.
So how'll you pay that ?
Odd jobs ? Perhaps. But those won't amount to all things you need to cover.
Rent, electricity, intenet, insurance, commuting expenses (includes your car if you have one).
Surely there must be ways, right ?
Yes. You see. As student you're a really valuable resource. Because corps, govs and even pharmaceutical branches know you are "hard for cash".
* Standing infront a supermarket or similarly packed place - embarrassingly trying to get people to "save the pandas", "help this family" - Students can do that !
* A medical study/Clinical trial ? Sure. What ? Side-effects that could cripple or kill you ? - Leave it to the students to be a guinea pig.
* Work in a call center and get yelled at by angry clients or a low wage - Students'll gladly take that offer
Spot the common denominator yet ?
Yes. Student's are a useful resource. They'll most likely stoop quite low, as they don't have anything else until they finished their 6-8 semester (if quick) study...
Other options ? Exist, yes.
I've seen people successfully make a living by freelancing.
Maybe draw comission work and charge 80 bucks a piece.
Perhaps compose something / rearrange a piece for someone for up to 100 bucks a piece
Or how about writing a essay or even complete thesis for someone ? Can be quite lucrative.
Programming can be lucrative aswell. Java, C, or even just a simple markup language (html) can be a great asset.
Shame all those take time and excellent skill. Also you'll have to compete with other - similarly skilled people
(not to mention advertise your services accordingly.. )
So here we are. Having these amazingly useful (probably even quite young still) people that will "move the world",
just as long as they're not buys being shackled down by obligations or cripplin debt.
But they are the future !
And we haven't even touched the student loans in america etc...
